General:
- There will be 3 players from each team allowed on the field at one time.
- Before the game, a coin will be flipped for choice of hitting/fielding.
- Team highest in the standings will call the flip
- Each half inning will be 3 outs or 6 runs, whichever comes first.
- We will play a 5 inning game, with a 10 run rule after the 3rd inning.
- Or 5 run rule after the 4th inning.
- Teams can play with 2 players but cannot play alone.
- Failure to have more than 1 person at the field 10 minutes after game time will result in a forfeit.
- Need for a sub must be noted at least a calendar day in advance.
- Subs must be approved by the commissioner.
Pitching:
- The pitcher must throw from the "rubber."
- You must throw two pitchers for at least one inning in a single game with two exceptions.
- The first exception is if the pitcher has a perfect game or a no hitter, he may throw the whole game.
- The second exception is if the pitcher gives up 2 or more runs in an inning, he may be replaced mid inning.
- The pitcher can either strike a batter out on 3 strikes or walk a batter on 4 balls.
- A strike is called if the ball either hits the strike zone, or is swung at.
- A ball is called on any pitch that does not hit the strike zone and is not swung at.
- If a batter is hit by a pitch and does not swing, they are awarded first base.
- If the batter does swing it is counted as a strike.
- If a batter tips a ball with two strikes and it hits the strike zone in the air, it will be ruled a strikeout.
Batting:
- Batter must stand within one batter's box.
- There is no bunting, the ball must go past the 20 foot line or it is ruled a foul ball.
- The batter is allowed unlimited foul balls.
- Any ball that clears the fence before touching the ground is a home run.
- On a ball that stays in the playing field, the batter can only advance as far as third base.
- Unless there is an attempted peg that occurs after they touch third base.
- There are no lead offs or steals while base running.
- If someone is up to bat but is still on base, their teammate should come run for them, while staying in the same batting order.
- Players should be running as the farthest back runner(s) unless there is runners on first and third, the player should then be on third.
- The batting order must stay the same throughout the game and continue from inning to inning.
- If a team hits out of order, their at bat for that inning will end and they will be given a warning.
- If the team hits out of order again in the same game, they will be disqualified from that game.
- A run is awarded to any runner(or ghost runner) that advances around all four bases.
- If a runner advances home but the inning ends on the same play, the run does not count unless it is a hit and the 3rd out occurs after the runner crossed home plate.
Fielding:
- Fielders must be in fair territory at the time any pitch is thrown.
- No fielders may use gloves on the playing field.
- The pitchers mound acts as a base for one force out per play in the field when the pitcher has the ball on it.
- To get a runner out you may, tag the bag or the mound(only if it is a force out), tag the runner, or peg the runner.
- Catching a ball before it hits the ground(fair or foul), as long as it is in play, results in an out.
