Description: The bright colors and scenes of children happily playing on the Big Chimney's playground fit nicely with the aspirational quote for Maya Angelou. The hot air balloon provides a gentle nod to Thaddeus Lowe's historic aerial flight. Sitting at a picnic table in the left-hand corner of the mural, you will find Barbara Cram and Dan Sze, two community leaders who both passed away in 2020. Also included in this work is Danna Lippman, daughter of former vice mayor and civic activist Hal Lippman. Danna’s presence is to show the Little City’s inclusion of those in our community with disabilities. The mural is intended to represent and inspire a more diverse City of Falls Church that welcomes Black and White, Asian and Indian, LBGTQ+, and everything in between.
