Hello, I am Dr. Deanna Mascle and I make writers.
This handbook shares my methods and strategies for making writers.
My first teaching job was at Ansonia High School in Connecticut in 1987. I then taught GED test preparation for adults in New York State and teens in Kentucky while simultaneously working as a reporter and editor for newspapers, magazines, and web publications. In 1999, I flipped my focus from full-time professional writer and part-time teacher to full-time teacher and part-time writer and began teaching at the college level. I taught at Eastern Kentucky University before joining the faculty at Morehead State University in 2001. In addition, I have worked with countless writers of every age in both long- and short-term writing workshops, because teaching writing is my passion.
