Before each class [until October 13], by midnight on Sunday night, fill out THIS FORM (we'll use the same form throughout the semester). If our guest speaker(s) have provided an article or pre-reading for class, list two questions that you have for them from their readings. If no pre-readings have been provided, list two questions that you have about their position and what you're hoping to learn from them.
If you haven't read Wednesday's article by Sunday evening, you can send in a separate pre-reflection NO LATER than Tuesday evening.
Each week [throughout the entire semester], send in a reflection by Friday at midnight. This can be a video, voice memo, written statement – any form of communication that gets your reflections and thoughts across is acceptable! Save them to your Weekly Reflection folder within your individual folder and label them with numbers (i.e. Reflection #1, Reflection #2 etc.). I want to hear you reflect upon any of the following points, or other points that come up individually:
If our guest speaker(s) provided a reading before their visit, how did the reading pertain to what we spoke about in class? Were your questions answered?
What resonated with you personally this week? Why?
Do you have any questions that need to be answered?
How did this week tie in with your other classes?
Did this week give you any ideas for your futures or new opportunities that you want to explore?
Did this week build on other things we’ve covered in previous classes?
If you want to submit a written reflection, aim for about a page of text (double spaced is fine). If you're submitting a voice memo or video, aim for about 2.5 minutes per person (group reflections are totally fine if you're an external processor and like chatting with someone to gain deeper understandings! Aim for 2.5 minutes per person - so if a group of 3 of you are submitting one reflection, it should be about 7.5 minutes long). Obviously, I welcome longer reflections, but don't feel the need to write a weekly manifesto!
