We are excited to welcome some new teams to the league this week! We ask that our veteran players be patient and help these new teams as they learn the rules of APA and how to keep score. We also want to remind you that your Division Reps (DRs) are there to help answer any questions during league night, their phone number can be found at the top of your scoresheet or you can conveniently click call from within the APA app.
There are still a few teams trying to pull a roster together in hopes of participating in the league this session. It is possible division schedules will change to accommodate these teams. Please make sure you are logged into the APA Pool League app and have Jacksonville APA set as your default league to receive these updates.
The information below pertains to the start of a new session, please click through and contact us if you have any questions or concerns. You can call or text the office number, 904-585-8180. We look forward to a great session and good luck to you all!

All players must be current in their membership fees to play a match (p. 22-23 of the Official Team Manual).
APA memberships were reset on Dec. 1st. All players need to pay their 2023 membership fee before playing their first match of the Spring 2023 session. APA has increased membership fees to $30 effective 2023. Players who joined after August 15th in 2022 will pay a prorated membership fee of $20 which is noted on your scoresheet.
If a player plays a match that has not paid their membership fee, a $30 debt will be applied to the team causing the team to be “past due” and lose bonus points for the week. Bonus points will continue to be lost every week until the debt is paid. Bonus points are not retroactively awarded once a past due balance is paid.
Players can renew their membership online by tapping the orange bar at the top of their APA app.
The first few weeks of a session can be busy as teams work to fill out their rosters. We thank you all in advance for being accommodating as teams work through these changes.
Call or text the office (904-585-8180) prior to adding a player to your team to ensure you are starting the player at the appropriate skill level.
Some reminders as you make roster changes this session:
All new players, regardless of gender, start as a skill level 3 in both 8-ball and 9-ball.
Note: This does not apply if the player is already established in the other format or if the player is known to have a true ability higher than that of a skill level 3.
If the player is a brand-new APA member, the player must join the APA prior to playing their first match.
New APA members, or previous APA players who haven't played in the last two years, play their first night free when they join online at join.poolplayers.com.
FYI: Pages 23-24 of the Official Team Manual address new players and roster changes.
Unfortunately, some teams may be caught off guard if a player they were expecting to join doesn’t show up or a player switches teams without telling them. Because we know this can happen, we give teams the option to play a player twice in the first 4 weeks only.
Any skill level is eligible to play twice provided they do not cause the team to break the 23-Rule and the selected player has at least 10 lifetime matches. Please refer to your Jacksonville APA Local Bylaws for details on this policy.
With your help, we've made some updates to the Makeup Match Policy in our bylaws. Below are the highlights.
Preplay if possible: Preplays are always approved and encouraged.
Makeups are for unforeseen conflicts or emergency situations only and must be approved by the League Office.
Approved makeups must be completed within two weeks and before the last four weeks of the session.
When you have an approved makeup match, turn in your scoresheet, a Makeup Match Agreement, and the full team fee at the time of the originally scheduled match. We will return the scoresheet for you to complete the match, but we will not enter the scores until the full team match is complete.
Makeups can be hard to get played during league time. Consider scheduling on a day and time other than league night, if possible.
Teams should be prepared to rent a table to complete a makeup match.
