Welcome to my webpage!

I'm Falin Sun, a Ph.D. student in Applied Economics at Auburn University. I'm currently working as a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Rural Sociology under the supervision of Dr. Wenying Li. My research spans both the consumption and production sides of the agri-food system. On the consumption side, I focus on estimating food demand and understanding how financial tools interact with household consumption decisions. On the production side, I study the determinants of a more sustainable agri-food system, including environmental regulation, firm behavior in food processing, and farmers' investment decisions such as irrigation adoption. My work aims to generate novel insights that inform evidence-based food and agricultural policy.

Before beginning my Ph.D. studies at Auburn University, I completed a Master's degree in Agricultural Business and Economics at Auburn University, a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics and Management from Renmin University of China (RUC), and a Bachelor's degree in Economic Statistics from Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE).
