The Altai Kazakh

The Altai Kazakh are are a group of people that have lived in the regions of modern day Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan for centuries. Their roots trace back to medieval Asia and the Mongolian Empire, all the way back to the late 1400's. Today, they still live a semi-nomadic lifestyle, moving locations with their herds several times a year. 

The Altai mountains are a rugged terrain and the winters are even more fierce. To survive in this hostile environment, the Altai Kazakh have learned adapt through migration and a unique form a falconry using female golden eagles. Despite the challenges, these people have thrived over the centuries, forming their own traditions and customs.
