Has responsibilitiy and authority to act for an commit the Local in matters requireing immediate attention, using discretion while making these decisions in the best interst of the members
He/She, or designee, is sole Spokesperson for the Local
Has the responsibility to be aware of all matters involving the Local
Chief Executive Officer of Local
Calls and presides over all meetings of the Local
At his/her discretion, is a member of all committees of the Local
Supervises and assists other Local officers
Assumes duties and responsibilits of the President in his/her absence
Performs other duties as assigned by the President
Member of the Local Executive Board
Should not assume liberal decision making to commit the local in major issues during the absence of the President
Keeps a true and accurate record of all Local business, including all meetings of the Local
Posts notices of all regular and special meetings
Custodian of all non-financial records of the Local
Handles all correspondence of the Local unless otherwise directed
Presents the minutes of the prior meeting at all regular and special meetings
Other duties as assigned by the President
Member of the Local Executive Board
Is responsible for all financial matters of the Local
Is custodian of all financial records of the Local including filing taxes
Presents a financial report at all regular and special membership meetings and at all meetings of the Local Executive Board
Treasurer should NEVER have sole authority to sign checks or other financial documents - ALL accounts of the Local require a counter-signature
Oversee/Develop Steward network
Member of the Local Executive Board
Track grievances and monitor time limits
Assigns Stewards
Keeps the Exective board informed about status of grievances and other issues
Keeps a running list of issues to be dealt with in CBA negotions
The investigation and representation of grievances (including acting as a Weingarten repre- sentative as available) with the designated Company representative in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, provided it does not interfere with the Company’s business; and/or
The collection of dues check-off cards when authorized by the appropriate Union action, and/or
The transmission of such messages and information, which shall originate with, and are authorized by, the Union or its officers, provided such messages and information have been reduced to writing and copies given to the Company designated representative.
