My name is Faith Minickene and I am an All State 2024 field hockey goalie and ice hockey center/right wing from Daniel Hand High School in Madison, CT. The field hockey team had and undefeated season with a record of 22-0-1 with 4 goals against. SCC Champions 3-0, State Champions 4-0.
I have been a field hockey goalie since freshman year at DHHS. For the past two years, I've been the starting varsity goalie and I've played every game in its entirety except 2 periods when we we had a big lead. We won all three games in the SCC tournament with 0 goals against. I received the award for Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament. In the state tournament, we've won the all 4 games with 0 goals against and are State Champions. I received the award for Most Outstanding Player of the CIAC championship game. I was also awarded November Player of the Month from nfhca.
I began ice skating at 3 years old and have been playing hockey ever since. I played for Yale Youth Hockey through 12 years old. I play on The Mid Fairfield Stars 19U-2 team and for my high school team where I am the captain this year. I consider my style of play to be a playmaker and I love passing the puck to the slot and making the assist. I also love to battle for the puck and my competitive nature has served me well. My Mid Fairfield Stars team is in 1st place in CT and 6th in the country.
I am interested in exercise science/kinesiology and sports management. I am an all-around hardworking, dedicated athlete that works hard to give 100% to everything I do.
I hope you enjoy my site!

To Whom It Concern:
It is my extreme pleasure to write on behalf of Faith Minickene. I have been Faith’s field hockey goalie coach for the past three years and have worked extremely closely with her as she’s grown from brand new field hockey player into a fierce, all-state goalie.
As I got to know Faith, I quickly learned that she experiences life like she does her sports; fully committed, willing to step out of her comfort zones, resiliently, intelligently, and joyfully.
On the field hockey turf, as a first year player, Faith earned my Coaches Award in recognition of her willingness to help her teammates with any issue or endeavor and the incredible spirit and sense of grit she brought to our team. By Faith’s junior year, her incredible dedication to becoming the best goalie she could paid off and she earned a spot on the All Southern Connecticut Conference team, the All-State First Team, and was voted CT player of the week.
On the ice, Faith was voted captain of her Daniel Hand High School team as a junior and recognized as the town-wide Sports Person of The Week. As a sophomore, Faith earned the MVP award and had the most points. On Faith’s club ice hockey team, at the age of 15 she started playing for the U19 team, contributed to a state title, and three trips to regionals.
Not only is Faith a tenacious athlete but she is also an excellent student and contributes to her school community as part of the French Club and UNICEF Club. Outside of school, Faigh spreads her joy of athletics at the Yale Youth Hockey Toy Drive, helping run ice hockey clinics for young girls, helping organize and contributing in local fundraisers such as The Cove Run (assisting grieving children who have faced a devastating loss) and The Turkey Trot (raising monies for local families needing financial assistance). Faith is an active member of her church and volunteers for Loaves and Fishes Food Kitchen.
Faith’s future is wide open. I feel confident whatever direction she chooses, she will bring incredible commitment, grit, perseverance, intelligence, and friendship to share with others. Faith Minickene elevates any environment of which she is a part.
Sincerely,
Trish Docker; MS, MS, BS
