Your Support Restores Hope
FaithfulRecovery was soft launched as a 12 step faith based meeting group, registered with Life Recovery Groups in December of 2023. Starting with one meeting it soon evolved into a small ministry offering a encouraging way for people in mental health recovery through one on one step study and sponsorship. In the beginning of 2024 FaithfulRecovery added an online Life Recovery Group and developed an outreach project titled Faithful Recovery Hampers. Right away, the project was supported through individual donations and organizations/agencies that serve our three counties (Bandera, Kerr and Kendall).
In Spring 2024 FaithfulRecovery filed for their EIN to be recognized as a Domestic Nonprofit Organization, as well as filing for their 501c3 status with the IRS (Pending Approval). FaithfulRecovery decided to support Mental Health Awareness Month (May), by hosting events in all three counties in order give organizations/agencies a platform to help spread awareness and to share the essential services needed in our rural communities. It partnered with SJRC|Belong (San Antonio), Lakehills Community Center (Lakehills) and the Doyle Community Center (Kerrville) to inform the community about mental health and recovery.
Sabrina Van De Walle is a native of Kerr County and is currently a resident of Bandera County. She is a wife and a mother to four children ages ranging from 8-14 years old.
Within the last 14 years Sabrina has overcome life on life’s terms and has walked in the way of Christ Jesus. Working the steps and principles of recovery has become the most freeing and motivational impact in her journey. Her heart to share what she has learned and developed in recovery, although difficult for people to hear, she stands on the promise that God will provide a way out and is faithful to help us endure difficulties till we get to the other side.
In Summer of 2009 she found Celebrate Recovery and participated with her whole heart. Due to life circumstances beyond her control she had to move back to her home town, Kerrville.
In Fall of 2010 Sabrina became a graduate of Christian Women’s Job Corps Kerr County and also became participant and facilitator of Celebrate Recovery.
In 2021, Sabrina moved to Bandera and made a choice to intently volunteer with Christian Women’s Job corps in Bandera County. By taking WMUTX’s National level one training for Christian Job Corps, she continued her journey as the Programs Coordinator once Kendall and Bandera Christian Job Corps merged in 2023 by taking WMUTX’s National level one training for Christian Job Corps. In October of 2023 the Lord placed a Recovery Ministry on her heart and she was obedient in His direction. She became a Life Recovery Leader in November 2023 as well as a member of the AACC, Mental Health Certification program.
In December 2023 she soft launched the ministry FaithfulRecovery ...because He is faithful in our recovery.
She is currently continuing her education in the Mental Health sector through the American Association of Christian Counselors, Mental Health Coach Certification in order to help the community and The Church to understand that Mental Health and 12 Step Recovery go hand in hand. She accomplishes this by holding Peer Support Services, as well as FREE workshops with community partners that educate the community on mental health and recovery. Sabrina faithfully serves Bandera, Kerr and Kendall Counties under the ministry of FaithfulRecovery.
