Artist Statement
I find that promotional media is more effective when it features illustrative elements. When I design a piece, I incorporate several mediums in my work, from typography, to illustrations, to photography and collage.

YouTube Thumbnails
A collection of thumbnails I designed for my YouTube channel. The thumbnails reflect the casual, goofy, nerdy tone of the videos themselves. Through careful consideration of the most important elements of the videos, I improved the SEO rankings of my channel as a whole. My most successful video so far earned 20k views, resulting in a 700% subscriber increase for my channel.

Shelby County Courthouse Exhibition Brochure
I designed a die-cut exhibition brochure for the Shelby County Courthouse. (It's located in Columbiana, Alabama.) I had the opportunity to volunteer there for several months as a family history archivist. For this brochure, I illustrated the front entrance of the building, and included some flowers that grow outside the building as design motifs.
Full brochure. Individual pages in more detail are shown below. Aside from the photographs, everything in the brochure is designed and illustrated by me. (Fonts used: Lora and Playfair Display.)

These flowers grow outside the courthouse, so I used them as design elements for the brochure.
Little Miss Muffett (Book Cover)
Proof of concept for a children's book where the character's roles are switched. (Little Miss Muffett is the spider, and the thing that frightens Little Miss Muffett away is a toddler.) This piece doubles as the book's cover and its first page.
Eye of the Raven: Typography Poster
For this project, I was tasked with highlighting the design potential of the font "Cantique." Everything you see is a letter, number, or glyph for this purpose. I designed this poster in the style of an illumination manuscript.
Abstract Type series
As a design exercise, I challenged myself to make a series of abstract images in a 3x3 format using only typography. (Font used: Outward by Raoul Audouin.)
