The goal of the Faith and Family program is to help children and teens develop a lifelong, personal friendship with Jesus.
We accomplish this by offering support and partnering with you, the parent or caring adult, so you can be an example of that relationship and create the rhythm of life that enriches the experience of God.
We invite you and your family to join us for the weekend worship experience!
English: Saturday, 5pm or Sunday, 9am. French: Sunday, 11am. Spanish: Sunday, 1:30pm
The Liturgy of the Word for Children is offered at most Masses.
Occasionally during 5pm and 9am we will use that time to offer Praise and Worship through Acts of Service (art projects for the church, sandwich making for a local community service organization, cards for the homeless etc)
For French programs please contact catest-luc@hotmail.com
We also offer weekday Mass, check the website for language and time.
There are many opportunities available for the whole family to serve the parish community.
A few examples

Exploring faith through intergenerational activities provides children an opportunity to witness faith in action. We provide different activities every year for different age groups, typically related to either themes or specific liturgical seasons. Sign up for our parish newsletter to be kept up to date.
Family members can explore their faith through the ALPHA course. An opportunity to engage in nonthreatening conversation on various religious topics in a safe environment. This is not mandatory but is highly encouraged for all adults of the parish community, especially those who are raising faith filled children and youth. More information can be found at Explore and Grow.
Beyond Alpha we host other opportunities that are designed to bring awareness to different aspects of living a life of faith. These sessions vary in length, and occur during different seasons to provide ongoing opportunities for spiritual nourishment. Known as the Connect Project, we are excited to help you connect more strongly with Jesus and the community of believers that make up his Church.
Throughout the liturgical year the parish worships in different ways- your family is invited to take part in events such as the Walk of Faith on Good Friday, the Christmas Concert, Christmas baskets, different prayer experiences, etc.
Liturgy of the Word for Children. Offered for children 5-12.
Children under 5 are welcome to attend with a parent or older sibling. Youth over 12 are also welcome, we offer them the opportunity to volunteer and be part of the team.
Offered regularly this is our way to support children in becoming "full, conscious and active participants" in the Mass Celebration (CSL, 14). Our goal is to help them experience the Word in an age-appropriate way, apply the Word of God to their lives, become closer to God and learn to participate in Mass both internally and externally.
We accomplish this by allowing kids to be kids, through movement, singing and asking questions, the team of volunteers leads them through the Liturgy of the Word.
We ask that families prepare for Mass by reading, watching or listening to the Gospel each week. Whether you attend Mass or not, this is an excellent way to let Jesus come more fully into your heart and home. By preparing before Mass, this also equips and empowers your children to engage in Children's Liturgy more confidently. Giving them an awareness about what we will be talking about, making it easier for them to be immersed in the presence of Jesus during Mass.
To read Sacred Scripture: Roman Missals are available for purchase at the parish office. We recommend the Young Catholics edition. A special family edition is also available for purchase online at Josephs Inspirational Services, Markham Ontario
You can watch the Catholic Kids Media videos and have them sent to you weekly by subscribing to startwithsunday.org
*Participation in Children's Liturgy is not catechism class. However, attending Mass on a regular basis (minimum of 15) is a foundational element in Sacrament preparation. More information about the Sacrament Preparation program is available under the Sacraments tab.
