SHARUDDIN MD YUNUS

Chairman

Sharuddin serves as the head of Arkitek MAA's design work - from conceptual architecture design, sketch design and layout design to design details. His meticulous planning approach to projects results in high-quality design that is adaptable and accommodating to the needs of the end users and built environment.

After an early career in academics, Sharuddin joined Arkitek MAA in 1981 and became Design Director. He was later elected to Chairman of the Company.

LUCAS SIN WHYE KWOK

Managing Director

Lucas provides the leadership and guidance for Arkitek MAA's design work. He is committed to high-quality and principled designs that stays true to Clients' needs. Lucas has had his hand in various kinds of projects, but he specializes in the retail and hospitality industries; working on shopping centers, hotels, service apartments, resorts and country club projects.

Before joining Arkitek MAA in 1990, he worked in Australia for four years with an architectural firm that focused on hospitality projects. He became Design Director in 1996, and he currently serves as Managing Director of the Company.

DATUK EZUMI HARZANI ISMAIL

Director

Datuk Ezumi Harzani was the President of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) for four terms (2017-2022), board member of LAM and Advisory Board member of Kuala Lumpur City Hall. He was appointed as a member of the Council of Architecture Accreditation and Education Malaysia from 2010-2019 and a member of the Focus Group in Dealing with Construction Permit under PEMUDAH since 2012.

He joined Arkitek MAA in 1997 and appointed as Director in 2006. He leads a team in the implementation of various portfolios including hospital, residential, office and hotel. He is also the recipient of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) President’s Medal in 2019.

ZULKEFLI ALIAS

Director

Zulkefli has been involved with project design development, documentation, administration and construction for his 30 years’ experience in architecture. He has worked on aviation, healthcare and institutional projects and takes special interest in hospital projects. Among the projects he has completed are Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor,  Tuanku Mizan Hospital, Cyberjaya Hospital, IMU Hospital and UM Hospital upgrading works.

His career began at Arkitek MAA as a project architect in 1994 and he became a Director in 2013. He is the Director of Arkitek MAA healthcare facilities design team. 

SAM WEI MUN

Director

Sam involves in design and project administration in Arkitek MAA. With seven years of practice as a landscape designer in China, he is passionate into the interaction between buildings and its surroundings in his design.

Sam began his career in 1997 and joined Arkitek MAA Sdn. Bhd. in 2006. He was appointed as the Director of M&A Architects & Consultants Intl. Co. Ltd (MAA’s joint venture company in China), and he began to run MAA’s branch office in Shanghai for 6 years.

Upon his return from Shanghai in 2013, he was appointed as a Director of Arkitek MAA Sdn Bhd in 2014.

VON KOK LEONG

Director

Began his career in 1985 in New Zealand, and after having served alongside prominent architects while working in Australia and Singapore, on a multitude of large scale commercial and retail projects, he returned to Malaysia in 1997 and joined Arkitek MAA in 2000. He became a Director in 2004.

Von is dedicated to providing quality service, management, implementation and project delivery. He is passionate about sustainable design and he is a member of the team that developed the Green Building Index (GBI) rating system. He is also a Past President of Malaysian Green Building Confederation (MGBC) and the current Chair of the GBI Accreditation Panel.

WAN ZAMHARIR MAHYUDIN

Director

Wan Zamharir has been primarily involved in construction, contract administration and project management in his 25 years of architectural experience. He has worked on healthcare, corporate office, residential and institutional buildings. He has also gained experience as check consultant from some of the project management jobs that he was involved with.

Wan began his career in 1997 and joined Arkitek MAA Sdn Bhd as a Project Architect in 2003. He was then promoted to Manager in 2011 and appointed as Director in 2023.

DATO' SRI GHAZALI MOHD ALI

Planning Consultant

Dato' Sri Ghazali is the Consultant in charge of Arkitek MAA's Planning Department. He was instrumental in setting up the department and helping it to become a leader in its field. His unwavering efforts have led to creative master planning solutions that are sensitive to the environment while still meeting Clients' needs. His work has garnered several Excellence-in-Planning Awards for the Company.

Dato' Sri Ghazali started his career as a Master Planning Consultant in Western Australia. Upon returning to Malaysia, he served as Deputy Director of the Urban Development Authority. He joined Arkitek MAA in 1984.
