Why Fairplay ID Protection

Your Fairplay ID lets you access your profile and information. If you compromise your Fairplay ID, people can change your information and account in bad way.

Good security habits can help you:

• Stop people logging into your account.

• Protect your private information.

• Limit the chances of phishing.

• Make it easier to protect your account and increase security.

The key to secure daily account checks is establishing good security habits.

Strong and Unique Fairplay Passwords

One of the best ways to protect your Fairplay account is creating secure passwords.

Elements of a Secure Password

Your Fairplay password must:

• Avoid being a dictionary word or having an obvious format

• Be a minimum of 12 characters

• Include both upper and lower case letters

• Include both numbers and special characters

• Not be a previously used password

An example of a poor password choice would be something like:

• Fairplay2026

• password123

• an easily guessed mobile number

• an easily guessed personal number (such as your birth year)

• anything easily guessed or readily available (like your mobile number)

An example of a good password choice would be: a password with a mix of unrelated, nonsensical, or made up words, numbers, and special characters.

Password Maintenance

You must update your password periodically (suggest monthly) to minimize the chances of others being able to log into your account using your old password.

You must update your password as soon as you notice anything that may indicate that your account has been accessed without your permission.

Be Mindful of the URL You Are Accessing

One of the most commonly made mistakes that results in a breach of account security is logging into an account using an unofficial website.

Verify the Website Before Logging In

You must confirm the website is an official Fairplay site before entering your Fairplay login info:

• Examine the URL extremely closely

• Check for site encryption (indicated by a green check mark in the URL)

• Avoid Clicking Strange or Suspicious Advertisements

• If you have confirmed the site is the official Fairplay site, you may safely bookmark it

Fairplay phishing scams and fake login pages would most likely be avoided by using the official Fairplay site.

Confidential Information Must Remain Private

Confidential account login information must remain private.

Never Share Your Login Details

You should never share your:

• username

• password

• verification codes

• recovery links

• email log in credentials

You especially should not share any information with anyone claiming to be customer service. You should also not share password information without verification of their identity and the customer service assistance request is being done via an official Fairplay site.

Use Security Features

Utilizing available account verification features improves account security.

Complete Fairplay Verification

If available, you must complete Fairplay verification by confirming your:

• email

• mobile number

• identity (if verification is required)

Verified accounts generally enjoy better security and assistance during recovery requests.

In the future, verification will also help prove ownership of an account should the user have login issues.

Account Activity

Checking your account helps spot bad behavior before it becomes a problem.

Watch for Suspicious Activity

Watch out for:

• Login attempts from unknown sources

• Notifications that your password was changed

• Changes to your profile that weren't done by you

• Changes to your account settings that weren't done by you

If something suspicious is going on with your account:

• Change your password

• Log out of all sessions

• Reach out to Fairplay for help

The sooner the issue is reported, the better.

Secure Your Email Account

Account recovery requests usually access your email account.

If your email is hacked, your Fairplay ID is also at risk.

Email Security Tips

Secure email accounts by:

• Setting a strong password

• Turning on 2 factor authentication

• Checking recent login activity

• Steering clear of attachments from unknown senders

• Keeping your recovery information updated

Your email account is often your first line of defense.

Avoid Public Wi-Fi for Login

Public WI-FI is convenient, but often insecure.

Safer Ways to Access Your Account

Avoid logging into your Fairplay ID over:

• Airport Wi-Fi

• Hotel network

• Public cafes

• Public Wi-Fi in a shared office

If you have to use a public network:

• Use a reputable VPN

• Do not save your passwords

• Log out after your session

The internet is safer if it is secure.

Be Careful of Phishing Attempts

Phishing is still a huge online security risk.

You should be suspicious of any emails or messages that:

• Have you reset your password without notice

• Urgently ask for confirmation information

• Offer rewards for you to log in
