Chubb's Finer Foods is located on North 16th and Locust Street in Omaha and is part of a local food desert. Although Chubbs provides customers with some fresh fruits and vegetables, the location and conditions of the store are unsafe.
No More Empty Pots is a community-based non-profit organization located on North 30th Street in Omaha, Nebraska.
This Family Dollar near North 16th Street is what looks to be abandoned, but surrounded by cars.
Florence Fish Market has been closed for about 30 years and still stands in the streets of Omaha.
These last photos accurately show the food deserts that Omaha suffers from. Thankfully, we have the No More Empty Pots organization and other initiatives to continue to grow these areas of town into something we've never seen before!
