Research

I am interested in automatic information retrieval from South Asian music, experimenting with tools and techniques to make computers learning classical music from Indian subcontinent. Links to some recent work appear below:

I also like to work in areas related to embedded high performance computing, enabling optimized implementations of math, signal, controls and image processing software functions at a systems level.

PhD Thesis

For my PhD I studied multirate signal processing techniques and their applications to the design of software and cognitive Radio. For details here is a copy of my thesis hosted by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. I am also a contributor to open-source software-defined radio library in C.
