INFORMATIK 2016, the 46th annual Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) conference, took place from 26 to 30 September 2016 in Klagenfurt, Carinthia. The conference focused on people-centric IT, emphasizing that technology should adapt to human needs, be manageable, unobtrusive, and understandable. Highlights included “Informatics Day” and “Economy Day,” along with over 40 workshops, tutorials, seminars, the 39th German Conference on Artificial Intelligence (KI 2016), the 14th German Conference on Multiagent System Technologies (MATES 2016), the D-A-CH Security conference, the 5th D-A-CH Conference on Energy Informatics, and the student conference SKILL. The program ended with social events in Carinthia’s culturally rich historic landscape.
