Preserving Stories, Binding Treasures
Hi, I'm Shelby, the heart and hands behind Faded Ink Bindery. My passion for bookbinding comes from a lifelong love of stories and a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship that brings them to life.
My journey into bookbinding began with a fascination for old books — the worn covers, the delicate stitching, and the sense of history they carry. I was also inspired by a desire to preserve original works from my friends, recognizing the importance of protecting those creative pieces. What started as a hobby has grown into a meaningful creative pursuit alongside my other work, and I now dedicate my time to creating lasting pieces that celebrate the beauty of the written word.
With a background in Archaeology (BA) and History (MA), I've spent countless hours mastering traditional techniques while also exploring creative approaches to design. My academic background has deepened my understanding of cultural heritage and the importance of preserving the past, which I now carry into my bookbinding work. Every project is a collaboration — whether I'm crafting a custom journal, designing a unique book, or restoring a treasured heirloom, my goal is to honor the stories that matter most to you.
I believe that books are more than just objects — they are vessels of memory, creativity, and connection. That's why I take the time to understand your vision, ensuring that each project reflects your story and style. From selecting high-quality materials to hand-stitching each binding, I approach every piece with care and attention to detail.
Bookbinding is an art that bridges the past and present. Whether I'm preserving a family heirloom or helping someone create a new keepsake, I’m honored to be part of that journey. Each book I craft is a reflection of your unique story — and I can't wait to help you tell it.
Thank you for trusting me with your stories.
