A factory reset erases all user data on your Chromebook's hard drive, including all the files in the Downloads folder. It also erases most non-user-related device information, but preserves a few diagnostic and operational pieces of data.

Note: If you're using your Chromebook at work or school, you can't reset it. Ask your administrator to wipe the data on your Chromebook and re-enroll the device on your work or school network.

Sometimes, this is to be expected since pixel aspect ratios are usually not 1:1. Your best bet is to encode to MP4 with the highest possible quality (Bitrate, not video size) setting on Format Factory. It is also highly recommended to turn Encode 2 pass On (takes twice as long to convert the video, but the results are better.

I am not exactly sure why that happens, it might be a missing codec, misconfiguration or software bug (it could be anything really).

You could experiment by turning AviSynth On, or turning 2 pass Off again (I know I said to turn it On, but I also get problems when enabling that with certain codecs).

That said, It is unfortunate that you have to convert an MP4 to an MP4 so you can then insert it to Storyline, which in turn may (or may not) convert that MP4 to another MP4...

I'm not using Format Factory since my operating system is Mac OS. I'm using Faasoft Video Converter to rotate videos like MP4, MOV, WMV, AVI, MKV, etc. I have never encountered your issue with the program, happy with it.

Format Factory is an easy-to-use application that allows you to convert the format of one group of files at a time.editing. For example, you can use Format Factory to record, combine, combine, and cut videos. It can also be used to combine and mix sound.

On the bottom of Home Mini, press and hold the factory reset button located below the power cord. Look for a circle etched into the base. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

you can also format the iXpand to erase all the content using a computer. if you have a mac you will need to format in exFAT or MS-DOS (FAT) file systems and you will need to make sure to use MBR(Master Boot Record) for the partition type. If you have a windows computer you can format with the default settings.

id you format it on a mac? if so you need to use disk utility and set the partition scheme as MBR when formatting. Mac defaults to GUID partition scheme which is not compatible with the iXpand drive app.

Hi, I am using a Mac and when I try to move a 7gb file onto the drive to put it on the iPhone it gives the unsupported message. Will reformatting solve this issue? Will I be able to transfer bigger files into it? Thanks.

Are you sending your Galaxy phone or tablet in for repair, or giving it to a friend or family member? If you need to wipe your device's data for any reason, you can perform a factory reset. This feature will completely erase your personal information and data to make your phone or tablet a clean slate. You can also reset the general, network, and accessibility settings without erasing apps or data.

You can reset your phone or tablet to its default settings without erasing apps or data. This type of reset will not erase security or language settings, accounts, personal data, or settings for your downloaded apps.

Important: Please save any information you need prior to the factory reset because your personal information may not be recovered. If you have encrypted the microSD card, you must decrypt it before resetting the device. Otherwise, your device will not be able to read the data on the card. From Settings, search for and select Decrypt SD card, and then follow the on-screen prompts.

One day I decided to plug it into a cheap camera. The camera said something to the tune of "memory card error" and it reformatted my card to only have 32GB space. (lost everything immediately! I would not recommend using that camera...)

Anyways, I've taken the card out of the camera and want to put it back into my phone, but it is now formatted to have 1 32GB partition and I cannot see any other partitions using the windows 7 disk manager.

The SD Card Association actually does not recommend using just any formatting utility, including the one provided by the OS. Instead they have developed their own software called SD Formatter, which they recommend for the following reason:

The SD Formatter was created specifically for memory cards using the SD/SDHC/SDXC standards. It is strongly recommended to use the SD Formatter instead of formatting utilities provided with operating systems that format various types of storage media. Using generic formatting utilities may result in less than optimal performance for your memory cards.

The SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards have a "Protected Area" on the card for the SD standard's security function. The SD Formatter does not format the "Protected Area". Please use appropriate application software or SD-compatible device that provides SD security function to format the "Protected Area" in the memory card.

I don't know how my card got in such a rut, but putting it into the win7 / win8 computer with various combinations of MicroSD card reader, SD card reader + adaptor, or through my GoPro did not cause the card to appear at all (whereas it was a few days ago). Therefore both of the above answers were not an option (the card did not show up in windows, nor with the SD Formatter utility).

I put it back into my phone to give that another try, and it formatted straight into 59GB of space!I did actually try this a few days ago, but my phone was android version 4.0.4 back then, whereas is it 4.1.0 now, That might have something to do with it.

Sounds like the camera resized the SD card's partition. Windows has a built-in partition editor that you can use to fix this. With the card plugged into your computer, click Start, type partition, and choose "Create and Format Hard Disk Partitions." You should see a list of all the different volumes on your computer. One of them should be the 32GB SD card partition. Right click it, and choose "Extend Volume." There will be an item called "Maximum available space in MB." Type that value into "Select the amount of space in MB." Then follow the wizard to its completion.

Dropbox files would only get deleted IF you deleted them from the drive before you did the reset. As a Factory Reset would be done when Dropbox wasnt running (i.e. its from the BIOS / set up programs) it wouldnt actively delete the files in your own Dropbox

Did this post not resolve your issue? If so please give us some more information so we can try and help - please remember we cannot see over your shoulder so be as descriptive as possible!

Hello, how do you restore a Cruzer Slice flash drive to factory settings? I accidentally formatted it and all the files have went missing, even the standard files. I am not bothered about my files, I just want all the factory files that are on it from standard. Thanks.

BTW I think your original files were the SanDisk SecureAccess system. 3 folders and a couple of files I believe, all of which could have been deleted without reformating. The SecureAccess files can be loaded from SanDisk, try this link: _id/2399/related/1/kw/secureaccess/r_id/101834

My fault, I should have said my PC is picking the USB drive up fine. I can put files onto it. My Pioneer programme is no longer picking it up and neither is my Pioneer decks. I bought this USB stick for my Pioneer decks only. I must have removed a factory file from the Sandisk that worked with my Pioneer. I will buy another one and pinch all the files from that, and put those on my old Sandisk. I think I will try formatting it again, I only done a quick formatt last time. I will do a full one. Thanks

there is nothing on the drive from the factory that would make it work with your pioneer deck. More than likely when yo0u formatted it you changed the file system and the pioneer decks cant read it. Try reformatting in FAT32 if it is not in that already and see if that works.

And instead of trying to find mistakes or impossible actions in topic titles or the question, I would try to understand what people need, if you really want to help. It just would be quite adequate to try to understand what people want to tell. No one knows everything. Just if you can do things right, what you should do right; it would be already good.

Has anyone had the guts to try the Factory Reset on a Meural Canvas II?  I've had nothing but trouble with mine and am tired of wasting my time. So I thought that while waiting 4-6 weeks for an actual solution from Support, I'd try a reset. My fear is that it'll take me back to where I have to reauthorize/register, etc. When I did this the first time, nothing worked right, I could not access my account yet was being charged for things I didn't want.

This product is physically appealing, but the software must have been designed by the company president's 10-year old son--and poorly at that. There is no excuse for this buggy software, and I refuse to be their beta tester.

(And no, I am not a stupid old fart. I'm old, sure, but I bought my first computer in 1980, have run multinational websites, and am now the head of a small IT department I know how things work. This product fails every test and SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN RELEASED.) 152ee80cbc
