FacePlant imagines a bigger world, investigating theatrics, relationships, and the mundanity of life. Through presenting practice, they seek to pose new questions and continue the conversation.
Piper Otis is a performing artist who grounds her movement practice in inquiry and self-reflection. She creates work that asks questions, allowing meaning to emerge through the process itself. With a background in kinesthetic education, composition, and music, her movement vocabulary blends jazz, concert dance techniques, and continued exploration of the Graham technique. Through her choreographic process, Piper works to embrace the discomfort of growth, encouraging dancers to challenge habits, disrupt routine, and rethink their relationship to structure and change.
Del Porter is a visual artist and performer working across installation, painting, dance, and sculpture. Drawing on theatrical and baroque elements, their practice expands impressionist and surrealist processes into contemporary, interdisciplinary forms. Through this blending of mediums, Del investigates the rhythms of routine and the shifting functions of the self. Their work seeks to blur the boundaries between art and life, materiality and humanity.
