Welcome to Face Anti-spoofing  Workshop and Challenge@ICCV2021

3rd Chalearn Face Anti-spoofing Workshop and Challenge@ICCV2021

Introduction

With the goal of giving continuity to our effort in this relevant problem, we are proposing the third edition of the Face Anti-Spoofing Workshop and Competition@ICCV 2021. Unlike the previous editions that focused on 2D face print and video-replay attacks and a diversity of subjects in terms of ethnicity and age, the 2021 challenge will focus on 3D high-fidelity mask attacks.  Most existing 3D mask PAD benchmarks suffer from several drawbacks: 1) a limited number of mask identities, types of sensors, and a total number of videos; 2) low-fidelity quality of facial masks. Basic deep models and remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) methods achieved acceptable performance on these benchmarks but still far from the needs of practical scenarios. To bridge the gap to real-world applications, we introduce a largescale High-Fidelity Mask dataset,  namely CASIA-SURF HiFiMask (briefly HiFiMask).  For more information about the HiFiMask dataset, please refer to [1].

Sébastien Marcela is a senior researcher at the Idiap research institute in Switzerland where he leads the Biometrics Security and Privacy group ( https://www.idiap.ch/bsp ). He conducts research on multi-modal biometrics (face, speaker, vein, ...), attack detection and privacy preservation. He is also Professor at the Université de Lausanne (UNIL) with the School of Criminal Justice and lecturer at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He is Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior, and Identity Science (TBIOM). He is the lead Editor of the Springer Handbook of Biometric Anti-Spoofing (Editions 1 and 2). He was the coordinator of European research projects including MOBIO, TABULA RASA or BEAT and involved in many international projects. He is also the Director of the Swiss Center for Biometrics Research and Testing conducting certifications and cooperative research.

Guoying Zhao (IEEE Senior Member)  received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005. She is currently an Academy Professor and full Professor (tenured in 2017) with University of Oulu. She is IAPR Fellow and AAIA Fellow. She has authored or co-authored more than 260 papers in journals and conferences with 16600+ citations in Google Scholar and h-index 60. She is a co-program chair for ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interaction (ICMI 2021), was co-publicity chair for FG2018, and has served as area chairs for several conferences and is associate editor for Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, and Image and Vision Computing Journals. Her current research interests include image and video descriptors, facial-expression and micro-expression recognition, emotional gesture analysis, affective computing, and biometrics.
