I received my Ph.D. degree from the Universidad de Sevilla, Seville, Spain, in 2018, while conducting my work in the Instituto de Microelectrónica de Sevilla (IMSE-CNM), Seville, Spain. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor in Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon and a Researcher in the Nanoelectronic Circuits and Systems of INESC-ID. I also collaborate with SiliconGate as an R&D Analog Designer. I was a recipient of a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Individual Fellowship, several Best Paper Awards, and the Prestigious Outstanding Dissertation Award from the European Design and Automation Association (EDAA), in 2019 (awarded to the best PhD thesis in the world for design automation).
I have collaborated in several national and international research projects and was the PI of several others. I am part of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Design Automation Technical Committee (TC-2) and part of the IEEE Circuits and Systems PECAS Technical Committee (Power and Energy Circuits and Systems). My current research interests include the design of power management circuits and automated design methodologies for circuit design.
I have published more than 50 papers with more than 400 citations including more than 30 papers in the last 5 years. My research goal is to perform cutting edge research with real industry-oriented R&D goals.
I have performed research stays is several academic and industrial institutions such as IMEC, Analog Devices, University of Barcelona and Shanghai University (invited professor). I was an Analog Design Engineer in Dialog Semiconductor (later acquired by Renesas) and maintain active collaborations with several institutions in the world, such as University of Macao (UM-FST) and State-Key Laboratory of Analog & Mixed-Signal VLSI, Instituto de Microelectrónica de Sevilla (IMSE-CNM), UNINOVA (FCT-UNL) and Instituto de Telecomunicações, among others.
