Fabio Ferri is a Bristol-based composer, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist whose work sits at the vanguard of contemporary jazz and experimental music. A leading voice in the city’s vibrant scene, Ferri is known for his fearless fusion of jazz, orchestral textures, and electronic sonics, crafting compositions that challenge conventional boundaries while remaining deeply engaging and musically rich.
Drawing on a background that spans metal, rock, and avant-garde traditions, Ferri’s music is characterised by its complexity, its colour, and its sense of theatricality. Leading his own ensemble — a quintet of like-minded, genre-defying musicians — Ferri has been described as “Bristol’s answer to Frank Zappa”, praised for both his compositional vision and his distinctive approach to the electric guitar. His live performances blur the line between concert and performance art, incorporating visual elements, movement, and synesthetic design to create truly immersive musical experiences.
Ferri’s work has been featured at major festivals including Shambala, Standon Calling, How The Light Gets In, and as a headline act at Belfire Festival (Loco Klub). Whether performing solo or leading his band, Ferri brings a rare blend of technical virtuosity, imagination, and irreverence to the stage — delighting listeners across the spectrum, from seasoned jazz aficionados to first-time audience members.
Following the release of The Griboyedov Incident (2022), Ferri is currently recording his forthcoming album Transfiguration — a bold new project that continues his exploration of form, texture, and emotion in sound. The first two singles off the album, Prelude and The Sinking Cathedral, are out on all streaming platforms!
