Well that stands for Portable Appliance Testing. Which means that home devices such as lamps, kettles, toasters, irons and hoovers(there are more), are tested to make sure that they're safe for continued use for persons that will be staying at your rented or holiday home. it usually includes a detailed report of items tested and Certificate of Conformance. This should be done yearly.

How can I save energy?
In the majority of cases, lighting is probably the first port of call when it comes to saving energy. By replacing your halogen(which get quite hot) to LED's you could be saving a pretty penny on your electricity bill each year. When these LED lighting came into service, they were very expensive, but now they are at a reasonable price, and a lot more affordable.
What can I do?
Well I'm not just your average standard Electrician, I go just that little bit further. Sometimes you may have concerns about your electrical appliance that aren't working anymore, I can fix the majority of them. Be it change a chord on a lamp, switches on lamps or even the lamp holders and electrical plugs or anything in the home that a big company won't help you with.
