Privacy Policy
BestJunSoft built the EZViewer Pro for KiCad app as a Commercial app. This SERVICE is provided by BestJunSoft and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
In short: the app works entirely on your device. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information or your design files.
Information Collection and Use
The app does not require an account and does not ask you for any personally identifiable information.
The app does not request internet access and does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking libraries.
Design Files You Open
KiCad files (.kicad_pcb, .kicad_sch, .kicad_mod) and zipped KiCad projects that you open are read and displayed only on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
To display a file from a ZIP archive, the app temporarily unpacks the needed files into its private cache folder on your device. This copy is used only while you are viewing the design and is replaced when you open another file. Android may also clear it at any time.
The app opens files through the Android system file picker or through apps that share a file with it. It can only read the files you choose.
Sharing the Screen
If you choose "Share screen (PNG)" or "Share screen (PDF)", the app saves an image of the current view in its private cache folder and passes it to the app you select (for example, an email or messaging app). The image is sent only through the app you choose, and only when you choose to share it. The previous shared image is deleted the next time you share.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app keeps the following information in its private storage on your device so that it works as you expect:
- App settings (for example, display unit, light or dark background, and menu options) and the layer colors you choose.
- A list of recently opened files (file name and the system's access permission for that file), up to 20 entries. You can clear this list at any time in the app.
- Assembly progress in BOM / assembly mode: the reference designators (for example, R1 or C3) of the parts you have checked as placed, saved separately for each board, for up to 40 boards. You can clear the checks for a board at any time in the app.
- Error reports created when the app closes unexpectedly (see "Log Data" below). At most the five most recent reports are kept.
This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data in the Android settings. If you use Android's device backup, Android may include the app settings in your personal backup, which is handled by Google under your backup settings.
Log Data
If the app closes unexpectedly, it saves an error report on your device. The report contains only the error details, the app version, the Android version, and the device model. It does not contain your design files, their contents, or your location.
The next time you start the app, it asks whether you want to send the report. The report is sent only if you choose "Send report", and it is sent through an email or messaging app that you select, where you can see the full content before sending. If you choose "Discard", the report is deleted. Reports we receive are used only to find and fix problems in the app and are not shared with anyone.
Permissions
The app does not request any permissions to access personal data such as storage, contacts, location, camera, or microphone. Files are opened only through the Android system file picker or when another app shares a file with the app.
Purchases
The app is sold through Google Play. Payment is processed by Google, and we do not receive your payment details. Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The app does not use cookies.
Service Providers
We do not employ third-party companies or services to collect or process information from the app.
Security
Because your design files and settings stay on your device and are not transmitted by the app, they are protected by your device's own security. We value your trust and design the app to keep your data on your device, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has sent us personal information (for example, by email), please contact us so that we can delete it.

KiCad is a trademark of its respective owner. This app is an independent viewer and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by the KiCad project or the Linux Foundation.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
