EZ CueBrief helps users view, copy, summarize, and ask questions about captions on the YouTube video they are currently viewing. It is operated by Omnihouse LLC, Indiana, United States ("Omnihouse," "we," "us," or "our").
This policy explains the data handled by EZ CueBrief's local features, optional paid Cloud Fast Summary and Ask service, optional ChatGPT handoff, licensing, and supporting infrastructure.
EZ CueBrief can process the current video title, selected caption track, selected output language, custom instructions, local questions, summaries, answers, and timestamps on the user's computer.
Gemini Nano runs through compatible versions of Chrome. Optional Qwen models run through the user's own Ollama application at 127.0.0.1 after the user grants that optional connection. Local Ask also runs on the user's computer. Omnihouse does not receive content used only with these local features.
EZ CueBrief uses Chrome extension storage to save information such as:
the selected local or cloud model and output language;
optional custom instructions;
cached recent summaries and their video, caption, and model cache keys;
feature consent choices;
a random installation or device identifier;
license and entitlement status; and
local settings needed to operate the extension.
The user can clear cached summaries and settings inside EZ CueBrief. Removing the extension or clearing its extension data removes local data, subject to Chrome's behavior. Clearing local data does not automatically delete information retained by the Cloud Fast service, Stripe, Google, or other third-party services.
Cloud Fast is an optional paid feature for cloud-generated summaries and transcript-grounded Ask answers. It is not required for local Gemini Nano, local Qwen, Transcript, Copy, or local Ask.
Before EZ CueBrief sends content to Cloud Fast for the first time, it presents an in-extension disclosure that distinguishes Summary and Ask data flows and requires the user to affirmatively agree.
For a Cloud Fast Summary request, EZ CueBrief sends the following over HTTPS:
the current YouTube video ID and title;
the video's duration;
the selected caption text;
the selected output language;
any custom instructions included by the user;
a random request identifier used to prevent duplicate usage;
a license or entitlement credential;
a random installation or device identifier; and
basic request information needed to enforce usage and protect the service.
For Cloud Fast Ask, EZ CueBrief sends the user's typed question, the full transcript, and, for follow-up questions, limited recent conversation history from the current video, along with the license or entitlement credential, random installation or device identifier, and basic request information needed to enforce usage and protect the service.
Omnihouse's backend on Google Cloud uses Cloud Fast content only to validate the request, enforce usage, prevent duplicate processing where applicable, and request and return the requested summary or Ask answer through Google Gemini. Local Ask answers are not sent to Cloud Fast.
The Omnihouse backend processes Cloud Fast content transiently for the requested Summary or Ask response. It does not write plaintext video IDs, video titles, caption text, custom instructions, Ask questions, conversation history, prompts, generated summaries, or Ask answers to its application database or application and security logs.
Content necessarily exists temporarily in network requests and service memory while the request is processed. Google Cloud and Google Gemini process cloud content as service providers under their applicable terms and privacy practices. Omnihouse does not represent that third-party infrastructure keeps no transient copies; users should review Google's applicable terms before choosing Cloud Fast.
To provide and protect Cloud Fast, Omnihouse retains limited operational and authentication metadata such as:
a Stripe license credential stored encrypted at rest, never in plaintext, so the service can validate and deactivate the activation;
a license or entitlement identifier and status;
a random installation or device identifier;
daily and monthly quota counts and reset periods;
request time, success or failure status, model or service route, and coarse size or token counts; and
abuse, security, and reliability records.
Server and HTTP security logs may include an IP address, timestamp, request route, response status, user agent, latency, and similar basic request metadata. Those logs never include request or response bodies.
Operational metadata is retained only as long as reasonably needed to provide entitlements and quotas, secure and troubleshoot the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and maintain business records.
Security and HTTP log retention: 30 days.
Request and idempotency metadata retention: 35 days after completion or refund.
Quota metadata retention: eligible for automatic deletion 45 days after the applicable UTC day or month ends.
Encrypted activation retention: eligible for automatic deletion 35 days after the last successful license validation and deleted immediately after successful device deactivation.
Purchase and legal record retention: as required by Stripe's practices and applicable law.
An active encrypted license credential is retained while needed to validate and manage that activation. When the user successfully deactivates the installation or Omnihouse completes a verified deletion request, Omnihouse deletes the encrypted credential from the active service record. Firestore's automatic deletion after an expiry timestamp is asynchronous. Separate purchase, accounting, dispute, and legal records held by Stripe follow Stripe's and applicable-law retention requirements. Omnihouse never stores the license credential in plaintext.
Omnihouse LLC sells the Cloud Fast Pro subscription. Stripe provides hosted checkout and payment processing. EZ CueBrief sends the information needed to activate, validate, or deactivate a purchase to the Omnihouse backend over HTTPS, such as an entitlement token, subscription status, random device identifier, and activation status. The backend communicates with Stripe; the extension does not connect directly to Stripe. The backend stores the required activation credential encrypted at rest and decrypts it only within the service when needed for the requested subscription operation.
Omnihouse does not receive the user's full payment-card number through EZ CueBrief. Stripe may provide Omnihouse with customer, order, subscription, tax, refund, and license records needed to operate paid plans and support purchases. Stripe handles that information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Checkout: EZ CueBrief creates a Stripe-hosted Checkout Session on demand when the user chooses to upgrade; there is no permanent checkout URL.
Stripe privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
The GPT button is separate from Cloud Fast. After the user presses it and confirms the handoff disclosure, EZ CueBrief may open ChatGPT and provide the current video title, selected output language, full transcript, and custom instructions to the user's signed-in ChatGPT session. The prepared prompt may also be copied to the clipboard as a fallback. OpenAI handles that content under its own terms and privacy policy.
EZ CueBrief does not receive the user's ChatGPT password, cookies, or payment information.
Omnihouse uses the information described above only to:
provide the local and Cloud Fast features the user requests;
activate licenses, enforce plan limits, and manage entitlements;
secure the service, prevent abuse, and investigate failures;
provide user-requested support and process privacy requests;
comply with applicable law; and
maintain the reliability of the extension and Cloud Fast service.
Omnihouse does not sell or rent user data. Omnihouse does not use user data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising. Omnihouse does not use video titles, captions, custom instructions, questions, summaries, or answers to train an Omnihouse AI model.
Omnihouse does not permit humans to read Cloud Fast content except when the user gives specific consent for support, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, when required by law, or in another circumstance allowed by the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy. Because request and response bodies are not retained in backend logs or databases, routine support uses user-provided examples rather than stored content.
Information is shared only as needed with:
Google Cloud, which hosts the Omnihouse backend;
Google Gemini, which generates Cloud Fast summaries and answers;
Stripe, which handles checkout, subscriptions, and related purchase records;
OpenAI, only when the user separately confirms the optional ChatGPT handoff;
Ollama and model providers, only when the user chooses and manages local Qwen software; and
authorities or other parties when required by law, necessary to protect security, or otherwise permitted under the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.
Omnihouse does not share Cloud Fast content with advertisers or data brokers.
Cloud Fast transmits user data over HTTPS. Omnihouse uses access controls, application encryption for the retained license credential, and Google Cloud security features intended to protect service data. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure; users should not place secrets or sensitive personal information in custom instructions, questions, or video content sent to Cloud Fast.
Users can:
keep using the free local features without enabling Cloud Fast;
decline or withdraw Cloud Fast consent in EZ CueBrief Settings;
clear local cached summaries and settings;
stop future subscription renewals through Stripe; and
request access to or deletion of eligible Cloud Fast account, device, license, and quota metadata by emailing support.cuebrief@gmail.com.
For a deletion request, email from the address associated with the purchase when possible and include the device or license identifier shown in EZ CueBrief Settings. Do not send a full payment-card number or video transcript. Omnihouse may ask for reasonable verification and may retain records required for security, fraud prevention, disputes, accounting, or law. Deleting Omnihouse service metadata does not automatically delete records independently held by Chrome, Google, OpenAI, Ollama, or Stripe.
EZ CueBrief is not directed to children under 13, and Omnihouse does not knowingly seek personal information from children through Cloud Fast. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information may contact support.cuebrief@gmail.com.
Omnihouse may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The published policy will show a revised date. If a release introduces materially different data practices, EZ CueBrief will provide any notice and consent required before applying those practices.
EZ CueBrief's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Omnihouse limits use and transfer of user data to providing or improving EZ CueBrief's disclosed single purpose, related operational needs such as security and reliability, legal compliance, and other uses expressly permitted by that policy. Omnihouse does not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising or to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.
