πOverview
Eye Care Pro ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to being transparent about how data is handled. This policy covers both the app itself and the third-party advertising service (Google AdMob) used to keep the app free.
There are two distinct data contexts in this app: your personal eye health data, which stays entirely on your device and is never shared with us β and advertising data, which Google AdMob collects independently to serve and measure ads.
This policy explains both clearly so you know exactly what is collected, by whom, and why.
πData stored by the app (local only)
The following is stored locally on your device only. We never access, receive, or transmit this data:
Test results β visual acuity scores, color blindness outcomes, astigmatism, contrast sensitivity, Amsler grid, duochrome, and near vision results
Exercise history β session logs, weekly goal progress, and streak data
Milestone badges β 7, 30, and 90-day achievements
Personal settings β age, glasses/contacts status, primary goal, screen calibration, and reminder preferences
This data is yours alone. It lives on your device and can be deleted at any time. We have no servers holding any of it.
π£Advertising & Google AdMobΒ Third party
Eye Care Pro displays ads provided by Google AdMob, a service operated by Google LLC. AdMob allows us to offer the app for free. By using the app, you agree that AdMob may collect and use certain data to serve ads.
AdMob may collect the following from your device:
Advertising ID (Android Ad ID) β a resettable identifier used for ad targeting and frequency capping
IP address β used to infer approximate location for regional ad targeting
Device information β device model, OS version, screen size, and language settings
Ad interaction data β whether an ad was viewed, clicked, or dismissed
Approximate location β derived from IP address, not GPS
App activity β which screens or features you used, for contextual ad relevance
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. We do not receive or store any of it. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
AdMob may use this data to show you personalized ads based on your interests across apps and websites, or non-personalized ads based only on context (e.g., the content of the screen you are viewing).
βYour ad choices & consent
You have options to limit ad personalization:
Reset your Advertising ID β go to Android Settings β Privacy β Ads β Reset advertising ID. This disconnects your past ad history from your device.
Opt out of ad personalization β go to Android Settings β Privacy β Ads β Opt out of Ads Personalization. AdMob will then serve non-personalized ads only.
Delete your Advertising ID β on Android 12 and above, you can delete your Ad ID entirely under the same menu. Ads will become fully non-personalized.
Where required by law (such as in the European Economic Area, UK, or other regions with consent requirements), the app will display a consent prompt on first launch using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can update your consent choice at any time in Settings β Privacy β Ad Preferences.
πPermissions used by the app
Notifications β 20-20-20 reminders, daily/weekly exercise prompts, streak alerts. Disable anytime in device settings.
Screen brightness β temporarily locked during the Contrast Sensitivity Test for accurate results. In-session only.
Audio (optional) β ambient sounds during Palming and audio cues during Directional Stretches. Only active when you enable these.
Internet access β required by AdMob to load and serve ads. No eye health data is transmitted over the network.
π€Children's privacy
Eye Care Pro includes a Kids Mode for the color blindness test (designed for children under 8). The app is intended for use by or under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
Eye Care Pro does not knowingly display personalized ads to children under 13. If the app detects or is informed that a user is a child, ads will be configured as non-personalized and child-directed in compliance with COPPA and Google's Families Policy.
Parents and guardians can disable all ads by using the device-level Ad ID controls described above, or by enabling airplane mode during Kids Mode sessions.
The eye health data entered for a child β test results, settings β is stored locally on the device only and is never transmitted or shared.
πDeleting your data
You have full control over your data at all times. You can delete it completely, at any point, without contacting us.
You can delete all locally stored app data at any time:
Within the app β Settings β Privacy β Clear All Data
Via Android β Settings β Apps β Eye Care Pro β Storage β Clear Data
Uninstalling the app removes all local data immediately
For advertising data held by Google, visit myaccount.google.com or use the Ad ID controls described in "Your ad choices" above. We do not hold any of this data and cannot delete it on your behalf.
π©ΉMedical data & disclaimer
Eye test results are stored locally as a personal reference only. They are not medical records and are never shared with any healthcare provider, insurer, or third party β including Google AdMob.
Eye Care Pro is not a medical device. Results are for informational and self-screening purposes only. Please consult a qualified optometrist or ophthalmologist if the app surfaces any concerns about your vision.
πChanges to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will notify you via an in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
We will never introduce new data collection practices beyond what is described here without providing clear notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.
