During regular visits optometrist to performs the following tests to determine your eye health:
Pre-Exam Tests.

Slit Lamp Test.
Visual Acuity and Refraction.
Pupil Dilation.
Glaucoma screening is often done with tests that look at changes in the optic nerve, changes in the pressure of the fluid in the eye, and changes in visual fields.
During your cataract screening the doctor will test your vision and examine your eyes with a slit lamp microscope to look for problems with the lens and other parts of the eye. The pupils are dilated to better examine the back of the eye, where the retina and optic nerve lie.
The doctor performs a standard Eye Exam. A proper contact fitting and eye exam begins with a thorough eye exam. Contact Lens Preferences. At this point, the doctor will discuss your contact lens preferences and expectations. Eye Surface Measurements then we perform a tear Film Evaluation and contact lens Fitting.

A certificate is then given to you by the optometrist as proof that you took the test, There is small fee for the certificate.
