White Paper
Call for a "statement of interest" to contribute to a white paper on "Astrophysics with high power lasers and laboratory plasmas"
Submissions deadline 30 January 2022
We invite colleagues from the French community to submit a "statement of interest" for contributions to a white paper on: "Astrophysics with high power lasers and laboratory plasmas". The white paper covers all aspects of experimental astrophysics research carried out with laboratory plasmas.
The goal of the white paper is to provide a snapshot of the state-of-the-art in the field, to articulate the research directions over 3-5 years that the community reckons to be important, and to identify the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
The editorial review panel will review the applications, and it will select and invite authors to provide full contributions for the final white paper. The editorial review panel will then gather, merge and edit, for coherence and uniformity, all invited contributions into a final document that will be signed by all contributors. This will be ~ 20 pages long, written in English and submitted to the journal Matter and Radiation at Extremes as well as published online as a preprint.
The "statement of interest" can be submitted online by following this link.
The editorial committee will pay particular attention to the feasibility of the research, its relevance to astrophysics and the implication of the astrophysics community in the proposal.
The information required includes:
a list of authors (maximum 5, but more authors can actually be added later in the online form);
a title;
the main text (limited to 3000 characters) articulating the context, the aims of the research and its expected impact;
relevant references.
Authors may submit more than one statement of interest.
Timeline
end of June 2023 Submission to the MRE journal and publication as preprint.
