Design

In September 2017, we were tasked with creating a lighter, more versatile and easy-to-use shell that retained the militaristic style of the previous year's shell.

The shell was designed to have an aluminum sub-frame which supports removable body panels.

CAD models and renderings were created to help visualize the project

FEA was used to the structure would be able to hand the loads it would be subject to.

The estimated weight of the shell was 9.5 kg which was significantly less than the previous year's 16 kg shell.
