What is the best way to have the expressvpn disconnect restore my previous resolv.conf. I could wrap the disconnect in a script that restores from a backup, but that requires root -- and there may be a standard way. I don't see anything on the expressvpn site.

I block all traffic by default, then allow all traffic through vpn virtual adapter (ie tun0), and only open the necessary network ports to allow vpn connection establishment (ie 1195 udp for expressvpn ovpn sha512).

I tried expressvpn today. WITHOUT expressvpn i get between 345 and 380Mb download speed. WITH expressvpn i get 184Mb download. Not worth the reduction in speed. I have the higher bandwidth for a reason.

Be aware, however, that the ExpressVPN website is blocked in China, so you should download it before you arrive. If you're in the country, ask the support team (support@expressvpn.zendesk.com) for a mirror link, which will allow you to download the app.

I would like to share my review about expressvpn and I hope this review will help other users. Expressvpn has been around for a long time. They use to be at the top of their game, however, I am noticing issues with the IP address versus the geolocation you are trying to obtain. Information seems to be different than the google browserlocation and does not provide accurate search for your preferred geo search location. Seems to have many other issues with software download and privacy.

No joy following the video instructions, there are a few different or missing sections in the 2.6.0 version to the expressvpn openvpn settings which are provided.

Hi there, to begin I'm trying to setup a Firebox XTM 525 with the latest Fireware 12.xx for my home network. I initially set it up with pfsense, but I wanted to see if I could make use of the native OS/software for this appliance.

Is it possible to setup one of the optional interfaces on this appliance to use ExpressVPN? I would like to set this up for my media streaming devices for geo restrictions.

I thought of doing this on a separate dd-wrt based router, but the vpn throughput speeds that I was able to achieve using my watchguard hardware running pfsense through an expressvpn connection was pretty amazing.

This is the error I get... ExpressVPN on it's own does indeed connect to the correct IP as I verified. Transmission, on its own as host connects and works fine but when I change Transmission network to container:expressvpn I get this...

@ACautionaryTale mentioned it higher up the thread, but when I connected to expressvpn I noticed the DNS settings on the Studio Display connection were being changed. So expressvpn was clearly trying to establish a connection on that. ff782bc1db
