"Explore The Complex 2" is the POTENTIAL sequel to the very cool backrooms game "Explore The Complex".

"Explore The Complex 2" MIGHT include more levels, that are even more obscure than the ones in the first game.

Devlog 12

Hey guys, I'm just posting this devlog 'cause I wanted to add the
fact that all the houses in the level are enterable!

Yes, most of them are empty.
I'll keep furnishing them as I go, well, some of them at least.

Devlog 11

Aaaalright! Here it is; Level 9.6.

Now I'll be completely real with you, it's from an asset pack.
Look, I hate don't hate modelling, but I'm not good at it either.
So believe me, this is the best option.

Also, the level is pretty unoptimized at the moment, so I'll be trying to fix
that.

Devlog 10

Alright, sorry I didn't post on here for a hot second, but I'm alive.

I've added some "story" elements to Level 0, and have been working on
another level (that you'll see later).

I also added stamina! (yipee!)

Devlog 9

Made some improvements in terms of Multiplayer, and added this
lobby level, to make waiting for your friends easier.

I also added the little "intro" animation back that was in the
original game.

All in all, some good progress.

Devlog 8

Not really a devlog, I just wanted to show the ENTIRE Level 0 map.

I know, it's not exactly infinite, but believe me, it's not small either.

And it has alot of repeating parts (because of copy and pasting but shush)
so even I become lost sometimes.

There are gonna be a couple of exits in Level 0, so keep your eyes open!

Devlog 7

Woooo! Flashlight!!

For now, instead of being an item, you just have it.
Well, for now at least.

Honestly, the gameplay might just not even resemble the first
game at all.

So, I've made a decision.

ETC2 will be more of a puzzle game and it will deviate a little from
the "Fandom Canon", so I can incorprate my own touches into the levels.

It will also have less of a focus on survival and more on horror.

Devlog 5

I decided to tweak the post proccesing in Level 0, to try to make it
look more like the original backrooms image.

I also added a HUD!

Devlog 4

Now, I have a big decision to make, in terms of gameplay...

Do I;
-Make more of the same and make ETC2 also more of a survival game
Or
-Have less of a focus on survival and more focus on puzzles, and make it
more of a traditional horror game.

I don't know which one I'll choose yet.

Devlog 3

I've done some really simple work on the multiplayer.

By really simple, I mean REALLY SIMPLE.

Like, I've added a player model and made running work with multiplayer.
That's really it.

But hey, it's a start I guess.

Devlog 2

I've already collected alot of potential levels that I'd like to add
from the fandom wiki.

Problem is, most of them are under rewrite.
So the question is, do I just make the game with the outdated levels?

Or do I wait till the levels get rewritten to potray them correctly?

Devlog 1

Alright, to start, I just borrowed the assets and engine from my previous game; "Level ⬜⬜⬜0"

So "Level 0" will pretty much be from the previous game.
I know, I know. I'm lazy, you don't have to tell me.

But I'd rather be called lazy then to model the same f*cking hallways for the 100th time.
