Privacy Policy for Explorer GlideEffective Date: 23rd September 2026Explorer Glide lets children fly a bird over Apple Maps by tilting their head. This policy explains exactly what the app does, and does not do, with information.1. Information We Do Not Collect
* Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or share any personal data.* Login Details: No account creation or login is required, or possible.* Location Data: We do not track, request, or access your location. The app has no "find me" feature. You choose where to fly by typing a place name or picking one from a list. That is a place on a map, not a report of where you are.* Device Information: We do not collect data about your device, such as model, operating system, or usage metrics.* Face Data: We do not collect, store, transmit, or retain face data. The camera is used only to measure head tilt, on the device, as described in section 3.* Analytics and Advertising: The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code of any kind.
2. The CameraExplorer Glide uses the front camera so that tilting your head steers the bird. This is the only permission the app ever asks for.
* Every frame is analysed on your device using Apple's Vision framework, and is then discarded.* Nothing is recorded, buffered, or written to storage. The app contains no photo or video output and never asks for photo library access.* The camera picture is shown on screen so you can see yourself. It goes nowhere else, and is never transmitted.* The camera is switched off the moment you leave the flight screen, and whenever the app is not on screen.
3. Face DataExplorer Glide uses Apple's Vision framework, on the device, to find where a few facial landmarks sit in each camera frame, so that the app can tell how far the pilot's head is tilted. What is measured. For each frame the app reads the positions of the eyes, the nose tip and the outer lips, and converts them into two numbers: the angle of the head from vertical, and how far down the face the nose tip sits. Those two numbers are what steers the bird. What is not created. The app does not create a faceprint, a face template, a face signature, or any other representation capable of identifying or recognising a person. It does not compare faces against anything. It cannot tell one person from another.Storage. No face data is stored. Camera frames are held in memory only for the instant it takes to measure them, and are then discarded. Neither the frames nor the two measurements are ever written to disk, to a database, or to a file.Retention. None. The two measurements exist in memory only while the app is running, and are gone when the app is closed. Nothing survives between sessions.Sharing. No face data is shared with anyone. It is not sent to us, and we operate no servers. It is not sent to Apple, and it is not sent to any third party. The app contains no analytics and no third-party code. Face data never leaves the device on which it is measured.Use. The two measurements are used for one purpose only, which is steering the bird inside the app. They are not used for identification, authentication, advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
4. Maps and SearchingExplorer Glide contains no networking code of its own and sends nothing to us. We operate no servers and receive nothing.Drawing a map does require the internet. The app uses Apple's MapKit, which sends the following to Apple:* the map area you are looking at, in order to fetch map imagery;* the centre of that area, in order to turn it into a place name;* anything typed into the search box. This is handled by Apple Maps under Apple's own privacy policy. Apple states that Maps is designed not to associate this data with an Apple Account. What is sent is the place you chose to look at, never a position the device worked out about you. Explorer Glide does not receive, keep, or share any of it.5. Maps You SaveAt the end of a flight you may choose to save a picture of the route you flew.* The picture is created on your device and placed in the app's temporary storage.* It is then handed to the standard system share sheet, so that it goes only where you choose to send it: Photos, Files, Messages, or anywhere else you pick.* Explorer Glide does not upload it, copy it, or send it anywhere on its own.* Nothing else is written to storage. No flights, places, or settings are kept between sessions.
6. Data Sharing and DisclosureSince we do not collect any user information, we have nothing to share or disclose with third parties, and we do not do so.
7. Data SecurityExplorer Glide holds no personal data to secure. The camera images that never leave the device are the most sensitive thing the app touches, and they exist only for the fraction of a second it takes to measure a head tilt.
8. Children's Privacy and SupervisionExplorer Glide is designed for primary-school children and is safe for users of all ages. However:* The app should be used under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or teacher.* Adults are responsible for setting expectations and monitoring use, including which places children search for.* The app contains no links out, no purchases, no messaging, and no user accounts, so there is no user-generated content and nothing for a child to share with a stranger.* No personal information is collected, so none can be exposed.
9. Changes to This Privacy PolicyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated Effective Date at the top of this page.
