Why 1: Why Market Vendors earn a lesser income/profit in today’s situation compared to the situation before COVID?

Because before all market vendors are doing business inside the public market in the center of town and now there are illegal vendors selling outside.

Why 2: Why there are illegal vendors?

Because of the pandemic, people tend to have their own initiative to look for their own means of living that these illegal vendors as considered (No permits) and some are individuals who lost their jobs who sells/ offers a lower price compared to the market price.

Why 3: Why these illegal vendors sells/offer a lesser price compared with market price?

Because illegal vendors are not paying a rent or fees plus the increase of prices of raw materials and transportation fees, these can affect and can lessen their initial cost in selling their products.

Why 4: Why the increase of prices of raw materials and transportation fees affect and lessen the cost in selling their products?

Because either illegal vendors or legal/market vendors can compete in selling the same product. These products are transported from different suppliers or producers that also sets their own prices and that affects the selling price of the vendors to the customer who also choose a lesser product price of goods they need.

Why 5: Why customers particular to the price variation of products they are buying?

Because in today’s situation, people are wiser and not everyone has a permanent source of income. Due to pandemic some lost their jobs or just stay in the community to choose a safe and healthy environment. The changing decisions and each life situations made us think more of a practical way living.

The root cause of the problem – Pandemic has changed lives of everyone whatever your role in the community especially financial aspects. There are problems in all situations and sometimes we are not even ready for it. But as we all say, no pain no gain, no efforts no results - so everyone is doing their best way to live.

This is where government do their part, by addressing the concerns of each group in the community.
