"We are candid in Kenmore. What you see is what you get."
So, come on in and look around. If you do, we bet we’ll see you soon!
Below, you can find a series of tips to make your Kenmore Trip a breeze, as well as two self-guided walking tours that allow you to explore public artwork throughout the community as well as some murals and paintings that you won't see unless you know right where to look. The other guided tour features some of the neighborhood's nightlife as well as great places to eat and grab a glass of wine. It's true, We are candid in Kenmore. What you see is what you get. But we’re also helpful and kind: equal parts passion and compassion.
"We are a community of resilient people who thrive on creative independence and neighborly respect. Everyone is welcome in Kenmore, so be yourself here. Then, watch as Kenmore becomes part of you."
To help you plan your visit, we've put together some tips to make your visit easy, fun and memorable:
Kenmore has ample free parking available down both sides of the Boulevard. Unless there’s a major event, chances are you can park right in front of the shop or activity you are hoping to visit. If you visit our parking page, you can see the four large parking lots available south of the Boulevard and on the Boulevard outside the library and Dollar Tree. In addition to parking on the Boulevard, there is also parking down the side streets.
In Kenmore we have lots of fabulous small businesses run by owners who live right here in our community. Some of the shops have seasonal hours, and some have hours that vary during the week. We also have some spots that stay open late for those who enjoy the nightlife. Check out the webpage or social media profile of businesses that you plan to visit and/or call ahead to make sure that the shop will be open when you stop by.
Kenmore is a music and entertainment district with activities from sun up to sun down for people from all walks of life, but especially for those who love music and nightlife. Come down to BuzzBin after 6 p.m. and stay till 2:30 AM listening to doom, metal, psychobilly, blues or just plain rock. Apparently, you might need some ear plugs. Check out our Night Out in Kenmore Walking Tour for some other ideas.
We have many tasty spots on Kenmore Boulevard including the aromatic cinnamon honey spread at Srina Tea House, open for breakfast and lunch, as well as gourmet paninis from chef Michael McElroy at Paninoteca for dinner from 5 - 9 p.m. If you're around late, check out the eats at Nite Owl or grab the last pie from Pierre's Brooklyn style pizza.
Kenmore Boulevard is a street-sized gallery with public art by local artists in every nook and cranny. Check out our 'The Boulevard's a Gallery' walking tour to make sure you aren’t missing out on any of the artwork that decorates Kenmore. Find something we missed? (Just a hint, but the Boulevard has the fanciest trash cans around). Take a shot of it and share with #KenmoreRocks. Be sure to tag us!
The Rialto has a gorgeous marquee that lets everyone know where to stop, but if you don’t look closely, you could miss some amazing spots like the second floor Center Yoga and Dance Studio (with regular open yoga), or the New Beginnings Boutique and Thrift, tucked in next to Wine and Whiskers. If you visit the Better Kenmore businesses page, you can also learn more about the government, non-profit and other organizations you can visit on the Blvd.
Kenmore may be known for its urban flair and rock and roll attitude, but it also features some suprisingly beautiful green spaces, right in the heart of the Boulevard. The BuzzBin Courtyard features a vine covered pergola and a great place to sit and read a book from the Kenmore Library across the street. Walk to the other end of the Boulevard, and the McCutcheon Courtyard features string lights and beautiful iron gate. Head East a few steps and find a secret vine-covered alley.
