Expiry Tracker ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the Expiry Tracker mobile application for Android.
1. Zero Data Collection
Expiry Tracker is designed as a 100% offline, privacy-first application.
- We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, usage analytics, device identifiers, or user content.
- We **do not require** user registration, account creation, or email sign-in.
- The app does not contain any third-party tracking software, advertising SDKs, or analytics services.
2. Local Device Storage
All data you enter into the application (such as item names, categories, expiration dates, reminder preferences, and notes) is saved strictly on your local device using an encrypted-by-default Android Room (SQLite) database.
- Your data is never uploaded to external cloud servers.
- Your data is never accessible to us or any third party.
- You have full control over your data: deleting an item inside the app or uninstalling the app permanently removes all associated data from your device.
3. Network Access
Expiry Tracker does not request network or internet permissions (`android.permission.INTERNET`). The app cannot connect to the internet, send data, or receive remote configurations.
4. App Permissions
Expiry Tracker requests only the absolute minimum system permissions required to deliver its core offline functionality:
- Notifications (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`): Required solely to trigger local device notifications on Android 13+ when tracked items are expiring or have expired.
- Receive Boot Completed (`RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`): Required solely to reschedule local background reminder checks after your device restarts.
Neither permission is used to collect data or monitor your activity.
5. Children's Privacy
Because Expiry Tracker does not collect any personal data from anyone, it fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards regarding children.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be reflected in this document with a revised "Effective Date".
