Effective Date: March 27, 2026
ExpiryGuard ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using ExpiryGuard, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
ExpiryGuard is designed to function primarily offline and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The only data handled by the App is:
User-Entered Data: Information you voluntarily input, such as item names, expiry dates, categories, and notes. This data is stored locally on your device using secure local storage (AsyncStorage).
Notification Permissions: We request permission to send notifications for expiry reminders. This is handled by your device's operating system and is not transmitted to us.
We do not collect location data, device information, IP addresses, or any other personal identifiers.
The data you enter is used solely to provide the App's core functionality:
Displaying your items in the dashboard, lists, and reminders.
Scheduling and sending local notifications for expiry alerts.
Enabling search and filtering features.
All processing occurs locally on your device. No data is shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than the App's intended features.
Local Storage: All data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to or control over this data.
Security Measures: We implement industry-standard security practices for local data storage. However, as data is stored on your device, we recommend using device-level security features (e.g., passcodes, biometric authentication) to protect your information.
Data Deletion: You can delete items within the App. Uninstalling the App will remove all stored data from your device.
ExpiryGuard may integrate with:
Expo Notifications: For sending local reminders. This service processes notifications on your device only and does not transmit data to external servers.
React Native AsyncStorage: For local data persistence. No data is sent to external parties.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
ExpiryGuard is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
