This workshop marks the official kickoff of the JST ASPIRE international collaborative research project, "Global Skill-Science Network for Transferring and Breaking the Limits of Human Expertise".
Targeting diverse domains such as music, traditional arts, and medicine, the project aims to develop technologies for sensing, analyzing, and transferring skilled performance, while elucidating the underlying neural and biomechanical mechanisms of expertise acquisition. We invite researchers and graduate students from around the world to join us in sharing the project’s vision and fostering cross-disciplinary exchange.
Research into embodied expertise inherently spans multiple fields; engineering, neuroscience, physiology, psychology, and beyond. To connect these domains, we propose the concept of “Expertise Science & Technology (ExScite)” as a unifying academic platform. Our goal is to build a vibrant, interdisciplinary community of researchers and stakeholders that will form the foundation for long-term international collaboration.
Held in conjunction with the Neural Control of Movement (NCM) meeting in Kobe, this workshop leverages a unique opportunity to bring together leading minds from across the globe. By gathering in Kyoto, a city where tradition meets innovation, we hope to catalyze new research partnerships and strengthen the future of this emerging field.
