Penny is an academic developer at Australian Catholic University, where she has been using a design inquiry of learning cycle to build staff capacity in technology-enhanced learning. She is also a PhD candidate in Linguistics at Macquarie University, where she is researching interdisciplinary communication and learning. Because she is fascinated by the intersection of disciplines and their knowledges, Penny will lead the 'embedded learning' session of the workshop. She is starting with this definition of embedded learning: “learning that is based on the premise that the more contextual learning is to the job or task, the more an individual is motivated to learn”.
