1. Introduction

Welcome to ExpenziQ ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"). ExpenziQ is a personal finance management application developed and maintained by HJ Labs.

ExpenziQ is a fully offline, device-only application. All data you create inside the App is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have a backend database. We do not collect, receive, store, or have access to any of your personal or financial information at any time.

By downloading, installing, or using ExpenziQ, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Data Storage

2.1 Everything Stays On Your Device

ExpenziQ stores all of the following exclusively on your device:

• Expenses and income transactions

• Budgets and spending limits

• Savings goals and progress

• Custom categories and accounts

• Transaction history and notes

• Receipt images

We have no servers. We have no database. We never receive your data. Your financial information never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up to your own Google Drive account.

2.2 We Do Not Collect Anything

HJ Labs does not collect:

• Your name

• Your email address

• Your location

• Your financial data

• Your transaction history

• Your receipt images

• Any usage or behavioral data

• Any analytics or crash reports from our own systems

3. The Only Exception — AI Receipt Scanning

The AI receipt scanning feature is the only feature in ExpenziQ that communicates with an external service. This feature is entirely optional.

When you choose to use AI receipt scanning:

• Your receipt image is securely transmitted (via HTTPS) to our backend server hosted on Render solely to process the receipt.

• The backend forwards the image to the OpenAI API to extract transaction details.

• The extracted information is returned to your device instantly.

• The receipt image is not stored on our server at any point.

• No data is retained after your request is completed.

• Our backend acts only as a temporary processing bridge. It holds no database and stores nothing.

If you do not use the AI receipt scanning feature, no data of any kind ever leaves your device.

3.1 OpenAI API Data Usage

In accordance with OpenAI's API data usage policies, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models by default. For full details review OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy

4. Google Drive Backup & Restore

Backup and restore are entirely optional features. When you choose to create a backup:

• Your backup file is stored directly in your own personal Google Drive account.

• ExpenziQ accesses your Google Drive only with your explicit permission via Google's OAuth authorization.

• HJ Labs does not have access to your Google Drive or your backup files at any time.

• We do not receive, store, or maintain copies of your backups anywhere.

Your backup belongs to you and lives only in your Google Drive account. We never see it.

5. Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google to enable Google Drive backup:

• Google provides basic account information (name, email, profile picture) solely to authenticate you within the App.

• This information is used only to connect your Google Drive account.

• HJ Labs does not store your Google account information anywhere.

• We have no database to store it in.

6. App Permissions

ExpenziQ may request the following permissions on your device. Each is used only locally on your device:

• Camera — To capture receipt images locally on your device.

• Photos & Storage — To select and save receipt images, export reports, and import or restore local backups. All operations happen on your device only.

• Notifications — To send budget alerts, goal reminders, and bill reminders. All notifications are generated locally on your device. No notification data is sent to us.

• Biometric Authentication — If enabled, used only to unlock the App. Handled entirely by your device operating system (Android BiometricPrompt / iOS Face ID & Touch ID). We never access or receive any biometric data.

• Internet Access — Only used if you choose to use AI receipt scanning or Google Drive backup. Not used for any data collection.

7. Advertising

The free version of ExpenziQ displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob is a Google service that operates independently and may collect:

• Advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID / IDFA)

• Device information

• Approximate location derived from IP address

This data is collected by Google AdMob directly, not by HJ Labs. We do not receive or have access to any data AdMob collects. AdMob operates under Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy

You can opt out of personalized ads:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Turn off Personalized Ads

Upgrading to the Pro version of ExpenziQ removes all advertisements completely.

8. Third-Party Services

ExpenziQ uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy and HJ Labs has no control over their data practices:

• Google Play Services — policies.google.com/privacy

• Google Drive API — policies.google.com/privacy

• Google AdMob — policies.google.com/privacy

• OpenAI API — openai.com/policies/privacy-policy

• Render — render.com/privacy

9. Your Choices & Controls

You have complete control over all your data at all times:

• Delete all your financial data directly within the App at any time

• Delete receipt images from your device

• Delete your Google Drive backup from your own Google Drive at any time

• Disable notifications from your device settings

• Opt out of personalized ads from your device settings

• Choose not to use AI receipt scanning — no data will ever leave your device

• Choose not to connect Google Drive — your data stays only on your device

• Uninstall the App at any time — all locally stored data is removed from your device

10. Data Security

Since ExpenziQ stores all data locally on your device, your data security depends primarily on your device security. We recommend:

• Using a strong device passcode or biometric lock

• Enabling the App lock feature within ExpenziQ

• Keeping your device operating system updated

• Using a secure Google account password if you use Google Drive backup

For the AI receipt scanning feature, all communications between the App and our backend are transmitted securely via HTTPS.

11. International Users & Legal Rights

11.1 European Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing of your data. Since all your data is stored locally on your device and we collect nothing, you already have full direct control. 11.2 California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what data is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale of personal information. 12. Children's Privacy

ExpenziQ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App collects no data at all, no children's data is collected either. If you have concerns please contact us at contact.hjlabs.dev@gmail.com

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes we will:

• Display an in-app notification

• Update the Last Updated date at the top of this page

Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
