Effective Date: 25-06-2026
By downloading, installing, or using the Expeny app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Expeny is an iOS personal-finance application that lets you record expenses and income, scan receipts on-device, track bills, recurring income, credit cards, debts, savings goals, investments, and price alerts, and view budgets, statistics, and a financial-health summary. It provides home-screen widgets and local reminders, and integrations with Siri and the Shortcuts app. Your data is stored on your device; the app does not provide a user account or developer-hosted data storage. Investment and cryptocurrency prices are provided by third parties and are informational only.
Expeny does not require registration and does not create a username/password account. The only identity used is an optional first name you may enter (stored locally) and the Apple ID you use for in-app purchases, which is handled by Apple. You are responsible for the security of your device and Apple ID and for the accuracy of the financial information you enter.
You may use Expeny to track your own financial information for personal use. Amount inputs are validated (capped just under one trillion, with up to two decimal places) and certain features enforce free-tier limits (1 savings goal, 1 investment, 1 debt, and 5 lifetime receipt scans for non-premium users); you agree to use the app within these constraints and the limits set by Apple's platform and the third-party services it relies on.
You agree not to misuse the app or its integrations, including not attempting to bypass the in-app purchase limits and entitlement checks, not abusing the third-party market-data and purchase services it calls, and not feeding the receipt and message-parsing features content intended to disrupt the app. Beyond the input validation and entitlement gating implemented in the app, there is no server-side moderation, since the app operates locally.
The Expeny app, its design, and its built-in content (such as default categories, icons, and bundled assets) are the property of the app's owner. The financial records and other content you enter remain yours. Market data and logos displayed in the app are provided by and remain the property of the respective third-party providers (for example, Finnhub and CoinGecko).
Expeny offers an optional one-time "Expeny Premium" purchase that unlocks additional features and higher limits. Purchases are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system and managed via RevenueCat. Pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase. Premium status is determined by your active entitlement; you can restore a prior purchase via Settings → "Restore Purchase." Billing, payment, and refund handling are provided by Apple under your Apple ID terms.
You may stop using the app at any time. You can delete your data on the device via Settings → Developer → "Clear All Data" and remove all remaining local data by uninstalling the app. Because there is no developer-hosted account, there is no server-side account for the developer to suspend or terminate.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. It is a personal budgeting tool, not financial, investment, or tax advice; prices and calculations may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable, particularly where they depend on third-party data. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app's owner is not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or from reliance on the information it displays.
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date, and continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
