ExpenseMate – Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 12, 2026

App Name: ExpenseMate

Version: 1.0

1. Introduction

ExpenseMate (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the App”) is an expense and personal budget management application designed to help users record, organize, review, and manage their income, expenses, budgets, categories, and related financial records.

We respect your privacy. ExpenseMate is designed so that the financial information you enter into the App is stored locally on your device/browser storage and is not transmitted by the App to our own servers.

This Privacy Policy explains how ExpenseMate handles information and is intended to provide transparency regarding the App's privacy and data practices.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

ExpenseMate does not require users to create an account and does not directly collect information such as:

Name

Email address

Telephone number

Postal address

Government identification numbers

Passwords

Contacts

Precise location

Photos

Videos

Microphone recordings

The supplied version of ExpenseMate contains no account registration or login system.

2.2 Financial and Expense Information

ExpenseMate allows users to voluntarily enter information such as:

Income amounts

Expense amounts

Transaction categories

Transaction dates

Optional transaction notes

Monthly budget amounts

Currency preference

App theme preference

This information is used to provide the App's core expense-management functionality.

The supplied version stores this information locally using browser/device localStorage. The source code saves transactions, categories, budget information, and settings to local storage and loads them from local storage when the App starts.

3. Local Storage

ExpenseMate uses local storage to save your App data on your device.

The locally stored information may include:

Transactions

Transaction categories

Budget information

Currency settings

Theme settings

This data is used only to operate the App and provide features such as balance calculations, transaction history, reports, budget tracking, and settings.

ExpenseMate does not upload this locally stored financial information to an ExpenseMate server in the supplied version of the App.

4. Data Sharing

ExpenseMate does not sell, rent, or intentionally share your transaction, budget, or other locally stored App data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

The supplied source does not contain Firebase, analytics, advertising SDKs, API calls, or server-side data-storage functionality.

However, the App loads certain third-party web resources, including Google Fonts, Font Awesome resources, and an externally hosted logo image. These resources may involve normal technical network requests when the corresponding resources are loaded.

Such third-party services operate according to their own privacy policies and terms.

5. Data Export

ExpenseMate provides an option to export the locally stored App information as a JSON backup file.

When you choose to export your data, the App creates the backup on your device and initiates a user-controlled file download. The exported file may contain your transactions, categories, budget information, and settings.

You are responsible for protecting any exported backup file that you save, transfer, or share.

6. Data Import

ExpenseMate allows users to voluntarily import a JSON backup file.

Imported information is processed locally by the App and can replace the existing locally stored ExpenseMate data.

ExpenseMate does not upload the imported file to an ExpenseMate server in the supplied version.

7. Data Deletion

ExpenseMate provides a “Clear all data” function that allows users to delete their locally stored transactions, budget information, categories, and settings.

When the user confirms this action, the App resets the locally stored data to its default state.

Because the supplied version does not maintain an ExpenseMate cloud account or server-side user database, there is no ExpenseMate server account from which your locally stored data must be separately deleted.

Users should also delete any exported JSON backup files from their device or other storage locations if they no longer want those copies to exist.

8. Data Retention

ExpenseMate retains locally stored App information only for as long as it remains stored on the user's device/browser storage.

Users can remove the stored App information using the App's Clear all data function or by removing the App's applicable local storage through the device/browser environment.

Exported backup files are controlled by the user and may remain on the user's device or other storage until manually deleted.

9. Data Security

ExpenseMate is designed around local data storage and does not transmit the user's financial records to an ExpenseMate cloud server in the supplied version.

Users should nevertheless protect access to their device and any exported backup files because locally stored or exported information may contain personal financial records.

No security measure can guarantee absolute protection of information stored on a user's device.

10. Children's Privacy

ExpenseMate is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

The App does not require account registration and does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, or similar personal information.

Parents or guardians should supervise children's use of applications and should ensure that any financial information entered into the App is appropriate for their circumstances.

11. Third-Party Services and Resources

The supplied version of ExpenseMate references certain external resources, including:

Google Fonts

Font Awesome CDN

An externally hosted ExpenseMate logo image

These resources are used for visual presentation and user-interface functionality. They are not used by the supplied application code to upload the user's transaction database or financial records.

Third-party providers may process technical information associated with requests to their services according to their own policies.

Developers should review the privacy practices and terms of any third-party service before distributing the App.

12. No Sale of Personal Data

ExpenseMate does not sell users' transaction information, budget information, or other locally stored App data.

The App is not designed to use users' financial records for advertising profiling or targeted marketing.

13. User Control

ExpenseMate gives users control over their locally stored information through features including:

Adding transactions

Editing transactions

Deleting transactions

Setting or changing budgets

Exporting data

Importing data

Clearing all stored App data

Changing currency

Changing appearance/theme

These functions are implemented within the App's local data-management system.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party services change.

Any updated version will include a revised effective date.

Users should periodically review the Privacy Policy to remain informed about how ExpenseMate handles information.

15. Contact and Privacy Questions

For privacy-related questions, concerns, or requests regarding ExpenseMate, please contact the developer through the contact information provided on the App's Google Play Store listing or the official developer contact channel.
