When evaluating the various private or even concertado/charter schools in Valencia, people also look at Valencia's public schools. One frequent question that often comes up is the mix of Valenciano versus Castellano versus other languages at these schools.
On this matter, the official Generalidad Valenciana government site can be useful as an initial barometer. For many schools, it lists the proportion offered in a particular vehicular language.
On the flip side, navigating to each school's page on the Generalidad Valencia website to reach this information is quite cumbersome. As such, we thought it might be helpful to have a summary of the percentages. For ease of reading and comparison, we also grouped it by the Spanish grade levels, which are Educación Infantil, Educación Primaria, Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, Bachillerato, and Formación Profesional.
As it pertains to foreign languages:
At the Educación Infantil grade levels, the published foreign language percentage is between 10-12%
At the Educación Primaria grade levels, the published foreign language percentage is between 15-24%
At the Educación Secundaria Obligatorio grade levels, the published foreign language percentage is between 18-31%
At the Bachillerato grade levels, the published foreign language percentage is between 11-29%
At the Formacion Profesional grade levels, the published foreign language percentage is between 9-23%

At the Formacion Profesional grade levels, the published Castellano percentage is between 33-64%
At the Adulto grade levels, the published Castellano percentage is between 42-58%
As it pertains to Valenciano:

In general, based on this data:
No public school will offer even close to 35-50% in a foreign language such as English. The highest will be 12% at Educación Infantil, 24% at Educación Primaria, 31% at Educación Secundaria, and 29% at Bachillerato, 23% at Formacion Profesional, and 23% at Adulto.
The mix of Valenciano and Castellano varies per school but ranges from 25-66% apiece.
