If you build it, they will read!
Scope

A variety of genres ranging from paranormal/horror, fantasy, realistic fiction, poetry etc. will be examined. Materials that represent diverse groups, such as LGBTQ+ and BIPOC Literature will be an important part of the site. It is inspired by the Materials for Young Adults Class through the Library and Information Science Program at San Jose State University.

About me:
Hi! I'm Steven, a student in the online MLIS program at San Jose State University. When I was a teen, I read mostly fantasy and mystery series. I love all kinds of music. This site allows me to explore new genres that I may not have been exposed to.
Observations
Doing this assignment opened my eyes to all of the different facets of YA materials. I hadn't consciously looked at any for a long time. The only really recent interaction I had with YA materials were movies that appeal to a wide audience including teens. I especially enjoyed reading the books. I did not realize the wide range of genres and subjects that were available for teen readers. Doing this project turned me back into a frequent library user again.
