ExoDyn2021 is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive experience for all participants, including organizers, speakers, sponsors, and attendees. All are expected to abide by the following code of conduct.
ExoDyn2021 is a professional networking experience and all participants should be kind to, and respectful of, all.
ExoDyn2021 is committed to equality of opportunity, to ensure the conference experience does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of their gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), marital status, age, nationality or socioeconomic background, or other protected characteristics not related to scientific merit.
ExoDyn2021 expects a diversity of views and opinions to be welcomed by open and constructive criticism of ideas, while personal attacks (verbal or otherwise) on individuals will not be accepted.
Harassment, bullying or intimidation will not be tolerated, and anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behaviour and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted attention, offensive images, sharing digital information without permission, and online stalking. Harassment, sexual or otherwise, is a form of misconduct that undermines the integrity of the workshop.
Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate in any form.
It is prohibited to retain or share scientific material shown in any oral or poster presentations if they have been marked as 'private' in the programme and/or include the ‘no sharing’ icon.
ExoDyn2021 expects anyone that may observe, or be subject to, any violations against these rules to follow the reporting procedures.
To ensure a smooth, fair and effective online interaction among participants, ExoDyn2021 expects the following behaviour:
Mute yourself (if this is not done by default), so that your background noises won't disturb the talk. Also please re-mute yourself after asking a question during a talk.
During talks and during debates, please use Zoom's "raise hand" function if you wish to ask a question or make a comment. You can find this function by clicking on the "Participants" button, which opens a sidebar to the right. Look for the blue hand icon. Alternatively, the function may be found by clicking on the "Reactions" button.
Once you are done, please press "lower hand", so that your blue hand does not stay raised. That is important because Zoom automatically orders the raised hands in chronological order, and that would be lost of hands are not lowered when the question or comment is done.
ExoDyn2021 encourages open discussion on social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and blogging platforms during the conference. The following rules aim to provide means by which ExoDyn2021 participants can embrace social media while at the same time remaining respectful of presenting authors’ work and protecting their research output:
It is prohibited to retain or share any scientific material at the conference if it has been marked as 'private' and/or includes the 'no sharing' icon. Never post any images or video online without the authors’ explicit permission.
The default assumption is to allow open discussion of ExoDyn2021 oral and poster presentations on social media. However, please respect any request from authors to not disseminate the contents of their presentation if it has been marked as private and/or if they display the 'no sharing' icon.
The professional conduct outlined in this Code of Conduct is expected to be applied to social media.
The following icon may be downloaded for inclusion on slides or posters to clearly express when an author does not give permission to have their results shared via any social media networks, blogs or by any other communication channel.
