Exodus Web3 Wallet: Complete Guide to the Browser Wallet
The Exodus Web3 Wallet was a self-custody browser extension created for accessing decentralized applications, managing digital assets, and interacting with Web3 services. It allowed users to connect their wallet with supported dApps, swap cryptocurrencies, manage NFTs, and work across multiple blockchain networks. However, Exodus has now discontinued the browser extension, so users should understand its current status before attempting to install or use it.
Exodus Web3 Wallet was a browser-based extension that provided access to Web3 applications and decentralized finance services. It supported multiple networks and allowed users to send, receive, and swap supported crypto assets while maintaining self-custody of their wallet credentials.
The wallet was designed to work with Chrome-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Brave. Users could create a new wallet or restore an existing compatible wallet using a 12-word secret key.
Exodus officially ended support for the Web3 Wallet browser extension on October 1, 2026. New users can no longer install it, and an installed extension can no longer be used for sending, receiving, or viewing balances.
Users who still have access to their existing extension may be able to view their 12-word secret key. Exodus explains that this key can be used to restore the wallet in Exodus Mobile or another compatible wallet.
The wallet was built to connect users with decentralized applications, DeFi platforms, NFT services, and other blockchain-based applications.
Exodus Web3 Wallet supported networks including Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Avalanche C-Chain, Base, BNB Smart Chain, Optimism, and others.
Users could swap supported digital assets directly through the wallet using Exodus's integrated swap functionality.
The wallet followed a self-custody model, meaning users controlled their secret key and private keys rather than Exodus holding them on the user's behalf.
The browser wallet was designed to interact with supported Web3 applications and NFT platforms, making it a gateway to blockchain-based services.
The main advantage of Exodus Web3 Wallet was convenience. Users could access supported Web3 services directly from a browser without repeatedly entering wallet information.
Its multi-network approach also allowed users to manage assets across several supported blockchains from one wallet interface. For experienced Web3 users, this could make decentralized applications and crypto management easier to access.
However, self-custody also placed responsibility on the user. Protecting the secret key and carefully reviewing wallet connections were essential.
Your 12-word secret key is highly sensitive. Never share it with another person, website, support agent, or online form. Exodus states that anyone possessing the secret key can potentially control the associated funds.
If you previously used Exodus Web3 Wallet, do not download an unofficial replacement extension claiming to be the old wallet. Instead, follow Exodus's official recovery guidance and verify the destination wallet before restoring your assets.
Is Exodus Web3 Wallet still available?

What happens to funds held in the old Web3 Wallet?

Can I still use the old browser extension?

Should I share my 12-word secret key with support?
Never. Keep the secret key private and offline.
Exodus Web3 Wallet was designed as a convenient self-custody gateway to Web3, supporting multiple networks, crypto management, swaps, NFTs, and decentralized applications. However, its browser extension has now been discontinued. Existing users should rely on official Exodus recovery instructions and protect their 12-word secret key carefully. Anyone researching Exodus Web3 Wallet today should verify current product availability before downloading software or connecting a crypto wallet.
