If you want comfortable bluetooth earbuds for mobile gaming with a single-ear design that keeps your surroundings audible, choose EXMAX 3.5mm; if you need best voice assistant true wireless earbuds for mobile gaming in a bulk setting where sound isolation and bass matter more than situational awareness, choose Flutesan 20.
The EXMAX is a wired single-side earphone, and the Flutesan 20 is a wired over-ear headphone.
Revised Opening:
If you want on ear headphones for mobile gaming that allow you to hear the game audio clearly without blocking out the room entirely, choose EXMAX 3.5mm; if you need a durable, over-ear solution for group environments or extended sessions where sound isolation and full-range audio are priorities, choose Flutesan 20.
• EXMAX 3.5mm: Its biggest strength is the specialized single-ear hook design engineered for speech clarity and environmental awareness during active use. Its biggest trade-off is the complete lack of bass response, which makes it unsuitable for music lovers seeking depth. This pick is for court reporters, runners, or gamers who need to stay alert to their physical surroundings.
• Flutesan 20: Its biggest strength is the over-ear foam cushioning and adjustable headband that provide comfort for long periods across a wide range of head sizes. Its biggest trade-off is the bulkier form factor, which offers less situational awareness than the single-ear model. This pick is for libraries, classrooms, or stationary gaming setups where noise isolation is desired.
The EXMAX 3.5mm is a highly specialized tool designed for one specific job: letting you listen to audio through a single ear while keeping the other open to the world. It uses advanced stereo-to-mono circuitry to mix both right and left channels into that single driver. This ensures you hear everything intended by the producer, but the tuning is distinctively different from standard consumer headphones. The frequency response is heavily skewed toward human vocal ranges, intentionally cutting out heavy bass frequencies. This creates a "tinny" profile that eliminates rumbling lows, making spoken words cleaner and more intelligible even at lower volumes.

This design makes it an ideal companion for mobile gaming scenarios where situational awareness is critical. Imagine playing a competitive shooter or a sports simulation where hearing the referee's calls or background commentary is just as important as the game sound itself. The flexible rubber ear-hook can pivot 360 degrees, allowing you to adjust the angle until it rests comfortably on your ear without pressure. The ear pads use extra soft foam material that feels gentle against the skin, reducing fatigue during long sessions. The cable is made of high-strength TPE, which resists tangling and corrosion, ensuring the device lasts through daily wear.
However, this product is not for everyone. If you enjoy ballgames primarily for the atmosphere or listen to radio broadcasts that rely on deep bass effects, this earphone will feel hollow. The lack of bass interference means you lose the richness of music or cinematic soundtracks. It is also strictly a wired device with a standard 3.5mm plug, meaning you cannot pair it wirelessly with modern smartphones that lack a jack unless you use an adapter. It is perfect for the user who prioritizes clear dialogue over musical fidelity, such as someone transcribing lectures, working in a noisy warehouse, or gaming in a shared space where they don't want to block out family members.
The Flutesan 20 takes a completely different approach, focusing on traditional over-the-head comfort and robust build quality suitable for bulk distribution or multi-user environments. These headphones feature an adjustable bracket that fits a wide variety of head sizes, from young boys to adults. The enclosure is constructed from ABS material, which provides a stable, tough, and lightweight frame that can withstand frequent handling. Unlike the single-ear design of the EXMAX, these sit directly over the ears with foam padding, creating a seal that isolates external noise effectively.
For mobile gaming, this form factor changes the experience significantly. The dynamic drivers cover a full frequency range from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, delivering a much richer audio landscape than the speech-focused EXMAX. You get the low-end thump in action sequences and the crisp highs in sound effects, offering a more immersive gaming experience. The foam ear pads are designed to prevent pain during extended wear, making them suitable for long study sessions, library quiet hours, or marathon gaming marathons. The inclusion of volume control and touch capabilities allows for easy adjustment without reaching for the device itself.
This product shines in environments where multiple people need to listen simultaneously without disturbing others, such as schools, hotels, or community centers. The over-ear design blocks out ambient chatter, allowing the listener to focus entirely on the audio source. However, this isolation comes at the cost of situational awareness. If you are gaming while walking, running, or driving, the Flutesan 20 is unsafe because it covers both ears completely. It is also a larger package, weighing more than the single earbud, which might feel cumbersome if you need to move around freely. It is best suited for stationary users who value audio immersion and comfort over portability and environmental monitoring.
• Best for Environmental Awareness → EXMAX 3.5mm: The single-ear design lets you hear traffic, conversations, or alarms while listening to your game or podcast.
• Best for Audio Immersion → Flutesan 20: The full-range frequency response (20 Hz–20 kHz) and over-ear design deliver deep bass and rich detail missing from the EXMAX.
• Best for Active Use → EXMAX 3.5mm: The secure, pivoting ear-hook and sweat-proof cable make it ideal for running, cycling, or moving around the house.
• Best for Stationary/Group Use → Flutesan 20: The adjustable headband and durable ABS casing make it perfect for libraries, classrooms, or hotel rooms.
• Best for Speech Clarity → EXMAX 3.5mm: The tuned frequency response removes bass muddiness, making talk radio, audiobooks, and game commentary exceptionally clear.
• Best for Long-Session Comfort → Flutesan 20: The foam ear pads and distributed weight over the head reduce pressure points compared to the single-point load of the ear-hook.
• Best for Durability in Bulk → Flutesan 20: Designed for high-volume usage with tough materials, whereas the EXMAX is a personal, lightweight accessory.
• Best for Budget-Friendly Multi-User Setup → Flutesan 20: Sold in packs of 20, making it the logical choice for organizations needing multiple units.
I would buy the Flutesan 20 for serious mobile gaming sessions at home or in a dedicated space. While the EXMAX 3.5mm is a clever tool for staying aware of your surroundings, its lack of bass and single-channel output strips away the immersion that makes gaming enjoyable. The Flutesan 20 delivers the full sonic spectrum required for modern games, and the over-ear design provides the comfort needed for long playtimes without the fatigue of a single ear hook. If your goal is to get lost in the game world, the Flutesan 20 is the superior choice.
Both devices feature a standard 3.5mm jack and work with most smartphones, tablets, laptops, and MP3 players, though some modern phones may require a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.
Yes, the lightweight design and soft foam pads allow for comfortable side-sleeping, as the single-ear hook sits gently on the ear without pressing hard against a pillow.
No, the over-ear design and bulky headband make them unsuitable for running or active movement; the EXMAX 3.5mm is the only option here for sports.
