Hey there! I’m Malik Murphy, born and raised in the heart of South Carolina, and currently 21 years young. I recently graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Sociology. It’s a field that has helped me understand the world around me in deeper, more meaningful ways. Education has always been important to me, not just as a stepping stone, but as a tool for transformation both personally and within my community.
Right now, I’m serving as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) through the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a yearlong program designed to challenge, stretch, and uplift young adults as they live out their faith through service. I joined YAV not only to support others, but to grow into the kind of person I aspire to be: resilient, compassionate, and ready for the next big leap into graduate school.
Let’s all take a moment and say a hopeful prayer that graduate schools sees something special in me. I know I have something to offer, and I’m ready to prove it.
This blog is a space where I’ll share the highs, the lows, and everything in between. As I journey through this year of service and self-discovery, I invite you to walk with me. Read, reflect, and witness the growth in real time. Let’s grow together.
Funds I raise in support of my YAV journey in New Orleans go directly to the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program. These contributions help cover important program expenses such as travel, stipends, health insurance, student loan assistance, and food allowances.
For those who may be unsure about the fundraising process, there are other ways to give support. You can also send contributions directly to me through Cash App at $Plutus03 or through Zelle using my email: malikmurphy2003@yahoo.com
