The Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is pleased to announce the upcoming EXFOR-2026 workshop from October 05–09, 2026. This workshop focuses on the compilation of experimental nuclear reaction data for the global IAEA EXFOR database.
A five-day intensive workshop featuring technical talks, interactive tutorials, and mandatory hands-on data compilation sessions.

The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers, faculty, and young scientists in experimental nuclear physics to actively compile and preserve crucial nuclear reaction data for the global IAEA-EXFOR database.

What do we do?
In addition to understanding physics behind scientific publications, we discuss scope, contents, and importance of EXFOR database
Editor and Digitization software for EXFOR applications Indian nuclear physics and nuclear data experiments
Tutorials and EXFOR coding exercises, including covariance Practical computer sessions with feedback
To consolidate our effort we emphasise on creation of new EXFOR entries based on publications by Indian researches.
Who should join?
Scientists, faculties, research scholars and final year M.Sc. students who work in the field of experimental nuclear physics.
Recommendation from guided or professor is required
Participation is based on selection cum invitation.
Please note the creation of new EXFOR entries during interactive computer session is mandatory.
