Aims-1

Our Most Ambitious Project

Program Overview

Aims-1 will be our first rocket that we build for the sole purpose of reaching space. At the moment, the design is undergoing a review and calculations / research are underway to get accurate measures of the hardware we will need to make Aims-1's mission possible. We will not provide more information on the vehicle until what information we have is accurate and tested. Currently, the Aims-TA-1 tank pathfinder is being prepared for ambient temperature pressure proof testing up to our required pressure of 6 bar (87 psi) aboard the Aims-1 tanks. Outside of this, Polaris V3, our first real pathfinder for the engine powering this sounding rocket, is undergoing a major redesign before initial construction, which will begin near the end of this year or sooner.

Aims-1 is targeting a launch no earlier than 2035.

Aims-TA-1 Test Article

March 20, 2023

Aims-TA-1 is our first real Aims-1 test article. The 8 inch wide, 20 inch tall tank will be pressurized up to 6 bar, or up to its failure point, wherever that may be. This will be the first test of the Aims-1 program and may verify our brazing technique for joining hull sections and tank domes. If this does not hold, we will transition to TIG style welding early to ensure strength in the future.
